I have a vr v6 too, and exactly the same thing happened to me. All I had to do to rectify problem was turn ignition on, leave it on for 2 minutes then start it (without turning ignition off then back on) My problem was memcal related.... Good luck.

Worth while checking engine mounts. Get a long pry bar, or length of steel, anything you can get your hands on, wedge it between engine block and mount on each side and look and listen for excess movement or knock sound that you descibe. Look for cracks in mount also.

Yes they will fit, i fitted VR calais into my missus' VN(series 1), the only thing i had to do was drill two holes in backrest towards floorpan in the centre where that folding down backrest goes, and secure it with two bolts and nuts! Carefully measure first, so you dont drill into fuel lines...

You do however need to remove IAC sensor wire...Not TPS wire.

could be acouple of things, easiest to start with would be a jamming throttle cable or poorly adjusted cable. Next maybe check the throttle butterfly mechanism itself, see if it opens all the way, and snaps back to shut quickly. Could maybe even be IAC motor is a bit sticky on throttle body...
