I think you are right. My car was specifically dyno tuned with Rotofab intake and picked up 25rwkw. I suspect even with stock intake it would be similar. I am keeping the tune as it's better than standard and with airbox change I can't tell any difference in everyday driving conditions. Just...

A bit more info :) So basically, some extra air for peak power when open, but closed position was really about the noise...

I find it very interesting how many hoops they need to jump through to satisfy noise/emission regulations. In reality it's all pointless as most people rip stock setup out and go with OTR and tune. Anyway...

Yeah, I see. The inlet on that airbox does look quite small. I wonder if the airflow was an issue why HSV did not go with better flowing air filter as they later did with GTSR. I am guessing the development of bimodal intake with all modules, etc, would cost a bit to develop

That was my understanding as well. I don't think that stock SS airbox is restrictive anyway with stock tune. The email was from Andrew

2016 VF SS Black Ed. - almost daily. Bought it new is Oct 2016. Using every chance to take it out. After some gremlins were sorted along the way it's awesome. Still enjoy it. 76 000km

Just 5 spoke 18's. The brakes filled them out nice. 345mm front rotors looked huge inside 18's. In all honesty for every day driving, they felt as good as Brembo brakes. Even front brake pads were identical compound as oem brembo pads; ferodo hp/1000

They definitely clear Brembos. I have seen them fitted with Brembo brakes. I would know all about it in some research I undertook a while back ;) Someone on this forum did it and there were pictures of it. I just cant remember what topic was.

The plastic inlet with o ring is about $50 genuine from holden. Not sure if the O ring is sold separately I also found the hose clamp was touching the crossmember with OTR install. Make sure you rotate the clamp when you do this so it clears the crossmember

I was scrolling through car sales and noticed a whole bunch of VF SS and Motorsports for sale... The prices are really good... You can pick and choose for 50k.. Is anyone buying them these days ? Same cars seem to sit on there forever...

Managed to get a photo of one. Pretty elaborate ;)

Have not done it yet. Just contemplating best option for now. This seems a good option as no mods would be away and hoses are tucked away from the extractors etc.

Can anyone confirm if HSV LSA heater hoses woukd fit LS3 SS. Anyone have any close up pictures of how they are routed ? I really want to get rid of OEM ones from the top of the engine...
