When the engine shut down could you hear some chattering noise from the throttle body with the ignition on? I have repaired 2 VE's with similar faults and it was a faulty ecu.

Does the motor spin by hand first? If yes maybe get someone to smack the starter when you are trying to start it. As others have said put in a fresh battery and give all the battery terminals a good clean as well.

Vy and vf are completely different so you will have to figure that out yourself, guessing you would have to mount a bar in the open area below the numberplate on the vy

On my wagon this grommet has the water hose for the rear window wiper going through it, on a couple of customers utes its just a blank grommet.

Google commodore drop box, basically allows you to mount the shifter lower. Seen plenty of pics of this done with b&m shifter, should be the same as the TCI unit.

You said there is no power to the solenoid though. Maybe see if you have power at fuse 50 under the bonnet first.

There is no fuse, the actuator runs off the same lock/unlock circuit as the drivers door. If the drivers door is locking and unlocking fine you either have a broken wire to the fuel door actuator or most likely the actuator is dead. Best way to check is to see if you are getting power and ground...

You should be able to pick power off the fuse box under the bonnet, there should be a main power in lug on the side of the box. When i wired the lightbar up on my vf i didnt worry about a switch either so didnt have to run any cabling inside,
