I actually though of doing that and may still. I would have to use the bottom peice get rid off the middle and top peices. Then make up a top peice by turning up a peice of ally and borings out the troats to the same size as the butterflys, then use a die grider to smooth out the top.

Im in the process of putting some good stuff into my vk and today i tryed to fit a vl booster, problem is that the vk has 3 lines coming off the master and the vl only has 2. So can I make it fit or should i change the master cylinder over and will the vk master bolt onto the vl booster...

yea shouldnt matter if its sucking air from the fuel bowl as the fuel lines will be pluged up.

yea i dont really want to spend the cash to go gas recearch and i have 3 quadys so im sticking with that. If I grind out the venturi tubes is there anything i need to plug up? Am i going to break into any gallerys?

maybee the realay to the gas shut off soliniod or the solinoid itself. Or I have to ask did you check whether the gas is turned on at the tank? The mechanic may have turned the valve off

dunno what that thing is mate but thinners isnt really good to use for cleaning stuff. Any plastic bits and possibly rubber bits will now be fcked. Thiners dissolves plastic so im guessing you will need to pull the thing apart and put a carby kit for it

ok so asked a few ppl a few questions today and found out that 1) 1500 stall is way to small I need more like a 2500-3000 2) Stock trimatic can only take a liltle bit more than the stock power of a 308 3) I need atleast a stage 2 shift kited box whitch also involves adding stronger clutches...

just get a screwdriver in behind the lock and pop it out then stick a screwdriver in there and open it. Solex locks are great apart from the ****ty clips that holds them in if you use them for fck sake make better clips to hold em in

yea i dont think that taking the strip apart would really help i cant even get a corner to go in they didnt come out all that easy either there must be a trick to getting it in

Put my new rear window into my vk calias today but having problems getting the black strip thing to go into the seal. I spayed the seal with some wd40 and tryed to knock it in with a soft hammer but no go. Anyone got any tips for me?

I wouldnt go replacing anything there looks like it would be pretty easy to fix with a hammer n dolly like vkberlina said. then a bit of bog and some paint and you'll never know the difference:thumbsup:

the motor in it has been running on gas for the last 10 years and its getting a bit rately n just preety much shagged. I was going to swap the 253 for another 308 block I have in the garage thats in peices waiting to get rebuilt

I was under the impretion that you cant put an older motor into a newer car UNLESS it ran strait, gas that way you void all the emmisions crap

nah i got a 308 but its preety much shagged i can swap a 308 block for a running 253 so thats why i was thinking about it. Im in victoria too so its not legal?
