What next will they try to flog for stupid money ???

I can't tell if this asking price is for real. At least they're open to offers but no low-ballers. https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/1975-holden-gemini-tx-manual/SSE-AD-4425181/?Cr=1

GM to return to Australia and New Zealand markets with EV vehicles

There is nothing in their line-up that is of interest to me. Also GM "quality" doesn't hold much credibility anymore. I would rather buy a French car (and that's saying something) than any GM product these days. Good luck GM, your biggest challenge is convincing Aussies you have any integrity...

Anyone tried a cheap Android touchscreen head unit?

I have two in various vehicles. One I bought from eBay and that's in the Addy, works quite well, it's been in there around 5 years, but my Addy doesn't do a lot of kms. The second one I have is an Xtron unit I bought off eBay and that's in my daily. It's been working well. None of them are...

Cheapest place to buy spare parts.

I tend to shop around and use a variety of online locations from the AC Delco Australia, eBay, Amazon and then the retail outlets like Supercheap, NAPA and Repco. All depends on how soon I need it and what part it is. For my Addy, I try to only use genuine parts wherever possible. Same for my...

    Installing Foglights VZ Adventra

Not sure, I know that when I bought mine they had three bolts at the back that slipped straight into the mounting bracket behind the bumper bar, I just had to put on and tighten the nuts to secure them in place. Then the wiring was already there for me to plug the lights into. I then changed the...

    Dashcam recommendations

Unfortunately these dash cams are very hit and miss in reliability, read the reviews online regarding VIOFO and you will get very mixed reviews. They have great clarity and features but if you get one that is unreliable (like I have) you will be forever trying to get it to work properly and I am...

    Aussie/China relationship........

Sorry but the negotiations started with Rudd, but Abbott once elected signed up to as many free trade agreements with China even though he was told there were still negotiations to complete and details to be ratified as overall safeguards were not properly implemented. Abbott ignored all of that...

    Two pedal "manual" transmission

Not a fan. I love driving a manual car and don't see the point of not having a clutch. My Addy has the paddle shifters and I used them once to see what it was like, didn't see the point. I am too old school.

[VE] VZ and VE Alloytec PCV Problem/Fix

Thanks Stick3! I have also ordered mine. Looking forward to modifying it if it needs it and installing it once it arrives.

what did you do to your car today?

Removed my PCV valve and cleaned it out. Then put it back in. Happy it wasn't blocked or covered in gunk, even happier now that it's done.

Holden VX - Smoke coming from left side of Engine (somewhere round headgasket)

I replaced the heater tap, nothing coming from there, will have to check the Welch plugs, hopefully it won't be that. Cheers mate.

Holden VX - Smoke coming from left side of Engine (somewhere round headgasket)

Not sure if the Op is still around, but if so, did you ever find a solution to this. Or does anyone know what this leak could be. I changed the rocker cover gaskets thinking this was the cause of the white smoke coming from the rear of the engine (driver's side). I have a VX Berlina V6. I think...

Where could this coolant spray be coming from?

I had a problem with my VZ Adventra and although I wasn't getting a spray pattern, I was losing coolant. Turned out the non-genuine (but brand new) radiator cap I used was the issue. I replaced it with a updated genuine radiator cap and the problem was solved. This is the redesigned genuine cap...

    Adventra rear deflector

The top upper layer is only glued on to the bottom layer which is bolted to the tail gate. I have had three of these so far. The original that came with the car fell apart about two years after I got it. I purchased a second hand one to replace it and it also feel apart about another two years...

Can VE Head/Curtain airbags be placed into VZ?

Thanks Sabbath, appreciate the response. I saw a couple of curtain airbags on eBay and that got me thinking. Lucky I have this forum to double check with otherwise who knows where my thought bubble would take me ;)o_O:rolleyes:

Can VE Head/Curtain airbags be placed into VZ?

Thanks Greenacc for your reply. I like your point about it being possible but not improving the safety of things and as you say can actually lead to a worse outcome as the VZ trim and timing is untested so the results are unpredictable and I don't feel like side swiping my car to find out if it...

Can VE Head/Curtain airbags be placed into VZ?

Hi All, I have been wondering if VE Head/Curtain airbags can be fitted to a VZ. I have an Adventra and love almost everything about the car except for the lack of curtain air bags and manual transmission. I saw a couple of VE Head/Curtain airbags on eBay and wondered what would be needed to...

    VZ wagon or VE wagon?

I have a VZ Adventra and can fit a double air bed in the back with the rear seats down. I am a short bastard at only 5'6 and had no problems sleeping in the back. Plenty of room for me. Never tried it in a VE, so not sure which one is better. Hope this helps.

holden adventra vz v6 oil change...?

The VZ Adventra V6 engine oil sump plug is located on the drivers side of the vehicle (pointing at the front wheel), not the rear as in the VZ Commodore. The sump is also towards the front of the vehicle. The "metal box and star thing" is one of the transfer cases. Found this picture online...

Do you like or hate the new Commodore?

I think I will pass on any new Holden's once they stop building them here. I don't really like what they are bringing down under from their various outlets around the globe. I was born and bred Holden and I will enjoy the memories of all their local cars going back to my dad's FC. I think I am...

Adventra - clunk after driving a several metres forward

My Adventra used to have a clunk, it turned out to be the steering rack bolts had become loose. Once tightened the clunking sound went away. Like someone suggested above, make sure all the bolts are at the right torque or at least tight. Hope you find the answer soon. Good luck.

Tyre shop scratched rims. How far to push this?

Same thing happened to me. I went there for a wheel alignment, they did something, got the car back, it was exactly the same, pulling hard left. Took it straight back and they said the car must have been involved in an accident and the body was out of alignment, wheels were fine. I told them...
