    Handbrake Adjustment VZ Commodore

Just to help anyone else who stumbles on this.... (darky82 Picture 1 above) The adjuster is two parts. The end screws into the adjuster. By screwing out of the adjuster this is what helps spread the brake shoes. However they often seize up. Soak in penetrating oil, use some vice grips to...

Calais climate control on 'AUTO' throws to demister when uphill grade ?? vacuum issue

The Holden dealer is mistaken. First plunge the actuator in, THEN block both air openings. Now this should hold the actuator in position. This creates an air lock which tests the integrity of the diagpham. If it cant hold an airlock, the pneumatic actuator must be leaking.

Calais climate control on 'AUTO' throws to demister when uphill grade ?? vacuum issue

I had this same issue in my VZ Adventra. It would go to demister when accelerating. I purchased two genuine Commodore Vacuum Actuator Air Vent Control P/N# GM 92140681 as I figure I may as change both. Ends up it was the drivers side actuator that was buggered. You can test the actuators once...

    VE MAF to LS1

I have teamed up this MAF with the VZ MAF Intake pipe. Works like a charm! I just had to block off the PCV valve with a rubber gromet and clamp. The MAF intake pipe when clamped down sealed up perfectly with the MAF. I also use a wiring adapter to use the MAF's internal Inlet Air Temperature...

Yella Terra Intake Pipe with MAF Yella Terra Intake Pipe MAFLESS Yella Terra's design requires a gasket (which is supplied) to fit the 4 inch internal diameter pipe to the smaller MAF sensor. It also comes with a small hole pre-drilled on the pipe for the IAT sensor. Be aware, if you...

    LSx MAF Intake Pipes Catalogue

For my Holden VX Commodore SS Series 2 I originally had the AFTERMARKET GTS 300KW pipe which worked well for many years, but it eventually sprung an air leak around the throttle body causing a high idle. I put this down to the fact that the pipe doesn't have a rubber seal at the throttle body...

    LSx MAF Intake Pipes Catalogue

MAF Upgrades for early model LS1 engines There is no doubt about it, the early Holden and HSV MAF intake pipe on the LS1 was a compromised design. It was a small diameter pipe with a large tapered accordion section that restricted airflow and caused it to become turbulent. Therefor MAF Intake...

    LSx MAF Intake Pipes Catalogue

In the early days of MAF intake pipe design, performance upgrades headed towards pipes with large internal diameter, smooth internal walls with gentle bends from MAF/Airbox to Throttle body. These upgrades usually increased peak power output vs the small diameter pipes fitted from the factory...

    LSx MAF Intake Pipes Catalogue

I have been interested in how engine MAF pipes have changed throughout the LSX range. So I thought I'd catalogue then here. The designs have varied for different reasons. Better flow, reduced intake noise, mafless operation and intake tuning (Helmholtz resonators). Well begin with the factory...

    VE MAF to LS1

Well it has been a year and 20,000km and my VX LS1 is going strong with the DELPHI AF10056 (GM Part No. 19207203) 85mm MAF. No codes, fuel economy is good, power delivery is smooth. So I'm confident in saying its a plug and play MAF upgrade for VT-VY LS1's. Optional: You can also buy a 5...

    Trans tunnel boot

My local Holden dealer is slack and never got back to me with a price! I ended up ordering it for $60 delivered from gm motorsports. Trans tunnel boot

Just wondering. I have a small tear in my Black Shifter boot. I notice Holden now uses a white rubber boot, but the lower frame is different with built in bolts that point down. If I buy the white boot and frame, can I remove the rubber and fit it to my black boot frame?? The part number for...

Ebay T56 shifter review and teardown (pics!)

After twoing and throwing, I decided I have the cash, it's an Aussie company and its proven so I went with the Rip Shift for my baby. Hard to justify the price but I think in the end it would have always played on my mind if I didn't go this way.

Ebay T56 shifter review and teardown (pics!)

I have used both Transmax Z and Nulon Synthetic Dex 3 and had good results with both. I used Nulon G70 additive as well last time and found it helped smooth out shifts when everything was cold.

Ebay T56 shifter review and teardown (pics!)

I would prefer to go with a Rip Shift but its much harder to justify $500 vs $150 for the knock off. Rip Shift really needs to be looking at reducing its price to at least the $300 range to swing more buyers to their product.

    VE MAF to LS1

The standard 74mm MAF on the VT to VY has always been considered a major restriction in the Commodores air intake. A solution many have chosen in the past has been to fit a VZ Commodores 85mm MAF. This option however requires a retune of the PCM. This upgrade provides a cheaper 85mm MAF...

    VE MAF to LS1

The external diameter of both MAF sensors are the same. 90mm The internal diameters is where the difference is. The stock MAF shrinks to its smallest diameter of 74mm. Area = 4300mm2 The new MAF has a continuous diameter of 85mm. Area = 5674mm2 The stock MAF's guide vane is 74mm x 11mm thick...

    VE MAF to LS1

Well I put the new MAF in the VX and so far so good. Pretty much plug and play. Car drives fine, no check engine light, no codes thrown, car drives great at both low speeds and WOT. Fuel economy figures are normal. The internal diameter of this new MAF is definitely much larger than the old...
