So I am looking at a VF now, my SV6 is dying... If you had around $30k

Oh I agree. I haven't sat down with the sales person yet, just doing the initial run arounds etc. So I will certainly be haggling hard haha.

So I am looking at a VF now, my SV6 is dying... If you had around $30k

This was my thought! And well I was being pretty strict on myself to go between 30-35, this 38 is stretching it but only cos it's so much lower km's than all others for sale and it's red :) Red is my top choice. Oh and it's located down the road, so I can just go get it easily enough lol

So looking at this one :) Looks pretty good to me, low k's etc. Close by to me. And it's literally the same as the one I had so I can pretend I never got rid of it haha. 2013 Holden Commodore SS V VF Manual MY14

Any brand of Flush/Oil better than others?

I was seeing everywhere that it needs to be 5w30, but above someone also mentioned 10w40? Will it cause any damage using something like that, as because I'm changing so often, I could run a different oil if it won't cause damage. As Super Cheap as doing a special on the 10w40 currently at like...

Any brand of Flush/Oil better than others?

Yeah Magnatec Fuel Saver iirc And yeah I've been told there's heaps of sludge causing the problems with my car, so I'm trying to keep it as clean as I can :(

This is the old vs new oil after only 1000kms

Any brand of Flush/Oil better than others?

Going to give my 2011 VE2 SV6 a good flush out this weekend, see if I can clear some more sludge up a bit. Last time I went to SCA, there were quite a few different brands of oil flush, so I wasn't too sure which one to choose. Is there one you guys would recommend that does a good job? Or...

Post VF, what do you drive?

I actually think I'd buy another Colorado if this happened

So I am looking at a VF now, my SV6 is dying... If you had around $30k

Sorry for multi posting, but if I bought a car from another state than QLD, let's say from a Dealer (Looking at that instead of Private, so I get some kind of warranty etc), do I have to pay Stamp duty twice? Like, most ads say "ex government charges", which is the stamp duty basically... So...

So I am looking at a VF now, my SV6 is dying... If you had around $30k

Ehhh I dunno, I feel like I'm getting more with a VF S1. Even though the engine isn't as powerful, I'm not into the most high performing item. I just want something that sounds nice, runs nice and is fun to drive. Oh and comfy :) And being an I.T tech, I do like myself some fancy gadgets!

So I am looking at a VF now, my SV6 is dying... If you had around $30k

Well I'm partial to leather, but not overly phased. However I do like the idea of push button start (I loved that in my SSV), as well as the MyLink setup. Auto Park is nice, even though I only ever used it once, and I actually quite like the electric park brake too. I know a lot didn't. I...

So I am looking at a VF now, my SV6 is dying... If you had around $30k

Nah, traded on a new Colorado. Was a good idea at the time. Lol. The after that had to sell it due to business going broke and now have the busted arse SV6

So I am looking at a VF now, my SV6 is dying... If you had around $30k

So my VE2 SV6 that I literally just bought a month ago is having so many issues that I'm literally just done with it. I'm going to get rid of it and finance a VF. I had a VF SSV S1 a couple cars ago and loved it, wished I never traded it in! But I can't decide now if I spend around the...

What kind of price should I be paying for this repair?

Hahah who knows. But that's what I thought too. I mean, aren't these the guys that are "pro's at Holden"? They should be able to do it blindfolded ;)
  15. jbray1984

What kind of price should I be paying for this repair?

Holden have told me its 12 hours of labour to do it... Beyond that I got no clue lol
  16. jbray1984

What kind of price should I be paying for this repair?

I did the blow test and I couldn't feel a leak myself. I have thought about just changing it anyway, but gotta wait till I get paid again :( Have spent so much on this car haha.

2011 SSV Auto Sedan - Recent Catback system fitted, but not happy. Some advice please

I haven't bought many exhausts in my time, but when I do I never buy one unless it has a demo audio/video (preferably Video so you can tell it's legit) In saying that, I don't see a reason why it would be so quiet? Do you possibly have a video of it as well so we can hear how loud/quiet it is...

What kind of price should I be paying for this repair?

So if you've been following my story for the last few weeks, basically Holden have told me I need to replace my Camshaft actuators to get rid of the ticking noise in my VE2 SV6. They have told me the tech is "extremely confident" in the fix solving everything. And have quoted $2870 If this...

Just bought SV6, having a little trouble. Looking for advice

I looked around the net last night and can't find any legislation stating that a private sale must disclose any information about the car and the buyer should do all checks prior to sale

Blown LLT in MY10 sv6- what do you think should go in, instead?

Holy crap including labour? I'm looking at over $5k for a LLT with Labour! I had read though that if it had a LLT, you can't put a different type of engine in it without changing more than you should have to etc?

Very interesting, but hey getting $10 grand back from a private sale is a whole different story haha.

Just bought SV6, having a little trouble. Looking for advice

Doing more research around, could it be the oil pump? or pick up? as I've been told it has a lot of sludge and the noise is surely coming from the top end of the engine. Are the oil pumps easy enough to do yourself? (I'm generally pretty happy to try anything as long as it doesn't require belt...

Engine sludge + tapping noise / what are my options / advice please!!!

I got another guy to do it for me for $1200, but apparently he did it wrong according to Holden lol.

S2 SV6 replacing Purge Valve Solenoid

So do you think that even though I could not feel any leaks I should try replace it? Only like $65 on ebay. When listening to my engine though, it sounds like the ticking is coming from the top of the engine almost

S2 SV6 replacing Purge Valve Solenoid

It did also give a bit of a pressure "pop" when I unplugged it too :)

Oh and unless I grabbed the wrong thing, the EVAP was on the drivers side in my S2 SV6
  27. jbray1984

S2 SV6 replacing Purge Valve Solenoid

Okay, so I pulled it off, no worries at all and did the "blow test" and no air coming through at all, at least didn't seem like it. So must be up for a new engine :( Unless anyone has anything else I can try before that?

Just bought SV6, having a little trouble. Looking for advice

Doesn't sound too bad. The Holden here said they are doing some searching for me currently to try give me a few options depending on what's around. I'm hoping to pick something up around the 60,000-70,000km mark

S2 SV6 replacing Purge Valve Solenoid

Yeah I am wanting to order one, but I want to pull mine off first and do the "blow test" before ordering... But if it's too difficult, I might order one first just incase I break something rofl.

Looking for a HOW TO on replacing the Purge Valve Solenoid on 2011 S2 SV6 SIDI

Would seriously transfer someone $20 to do a quick video showing location and how to change this? So I can avoid doing the wrong thing anywhere along the line.

Looking for a HOW TO on replacing the Purge Valve Solenoid on 2011 S2 SV6 SIDI

S2 SV6 replacing Purge Valve Solenoid

So I've been reading a few things here and there about ticking coming from my S2 SV6 and before I do what Holden want, and replace the engine, I figure there's no harm in trying a few things. So I want to try replace the EVAP Purge Solenoid, found this part on ebay; Genuine Holden VE Commodore...

Engine sludge + tapping noise / what are my options / advice please!!!

This is the same thing Holden have told me with my S2 SV6. It's got 118k's but has sludge etc. They have adjusted the timing and cam timing etc, and have told me I need new lifters and camshaft actuators, but would be better to replace the engine. I was looking at maybe this solenoid valve fix...

Just bought SV6, having a little trouble. Looking for advice

Hey guys, So just an update, got my car back from Holden today and they said they found an issue with the timing from the timing chain just put in and cam timing or something. Reads like this; cam position performance fault (cam timing) found timing out on rhs bank strip - rquires to be checked...

Question about front bar fitment/replacement on Series 2 SV6

Oh dammit, that's frustrating. I just wanted the chrome surrounds. The grilles different sizes also?

Question about front bar fitment/replacement on Series 2 SV6

Hey guys, Quick question. As I noticed that the car I bought recently (found out afterwards, it had been in a collision, so the front bar was replaced), I didn't realise the front bar was the same as the series 1 on mine. But I'm curious, is it difficult to fit a new front bar to these cars...

Hey. Just wondering if you sorted this and if you maybe had a video recording for what it sounded like beforehand? Just wanting to match up to the problems in having now with my sv6

Just bought SV6, having a little trouble. Looking for advice

Oh I have, but he literally couldn't give a crap. And yeah I made a couple mistakes haha. But it all seemed okay and above board at the time of purchase... So frustrating that I'm stuck with it now though! So just trying to fix it at this point haha.
