    WM Caprice side indicators

Just a tip for removing the fender indicator from the panel. The Holden manual suggests you remove the wheel, and then remove the inner wheel arch lining, and get to the indicator that way. A pain in the bum way to do it! A mechanic friend gave me a tip. Slide a firm plastic card, like a...

    Spark plugs ve sv6 sidi

I can absolutely definitely confirm that you don't have to touch the manifold bolts to do the spark plugs on the 3.6L SIDI LLT V6 motor that is in my MY10 WM Caprice. I know this cuz I did my plugs last weekend I don't know about the 3.0L SIDI but I imagine it would be the same as the 3.6L

Changing spark plugs on VE / WM SIDI 3.6L LLT engine

Yep just a 10mm socket for the bolts on the coil pack bolts and that spark plug tool for the plugs. You could probably use any spark plug tool, but that one has a built-in ball joint to give it some angle to get the rear ones, and is also nice and long so makes it easy to work. To get to the...

Changing spark plugs on VE / WM SIDI 3.6L LLT engine

Sure, i'll take a pic of the tool and post it later. I haven't seen the motor under the bonnet of the 2011 S2 VE sportswagon, but I can't imagine it would be a hell of a lot different to the MY10 3.6L SIDI V6 WM Caprice that I have. After I removed the engine cover, and the black piece of...

Changing spark plugs on VE / WM SIDI 3.6L LLT engine

Hi guys, I know there are many spark plug threads on here, and many are from people like myself wondering about the difficulty of the job. I know a lot of us get concerned about removing manifolds, replacing gaskets etc when replacing plugs, especially from threads on VZ and early model VE...

ALDL diagnostics - is OTC 4000 Enhanced scan tool compatible?

I have the ALDL cables for the scanner (both the 6 pin squareish one for the VN and also the OBD2 16-pin for the VS). I've ordered the pathfinder 99 and pathfinder 93 software, so i'll see how I go.

ALDL diagnostics - is OTC 4000 Enhanced scan tool compatible?

A question for the diagnostic experts amongst us... Hey I am trying to get ALDL data from a VN and a VS Commodore. I am using the OTC 4000 Enhanced scan tool. Is this scan tool compatible with the ALDL data stream of the commodores? I have heard it is. Which software module should be...

VT Berlina factory fitted alarm question

I have a VT berlina, and it has a factory fitted alarm system which beeps a horn under the bonnet if a door is opened without first pressing the key fob "unlock" button. Now, I just wanted to confirm with another VT Berlina owner how the alarm should work. When I lock the car, "sometimes" it...

    VT Monaro tail lights question???

I have some photos to share of my VT series 1 Berlina. I changed the tail lights and rear decor panel in January this year. I like the VZ Monaro back end - I think it looks much smarter than the stock VT. Previous posters were correct mentioning that the Alteza type chrome aftermarket Monaro...

Changing VS power steering pump - how to fit filter in return line?

Hi Guys, My wife has a VS commodore and the power steering pump is noisy so I am about to replace it. I have bought a new AC Delco pump, and it has a 24 month warranty, however it says "warranty not valid unless a filter is fitted to the return line" The VS doesn't have a filter inline...

    Oxy sensors price

I just ordered two O2 sensors from this ebay seller and he combined postage, so it was only $9 postage for both of them. $129 all up, including postage. I have bought O2 sensors from him before, he is a reliable seller and posts quickly.

VT has flat spots on fuel, works FINE on LPG???

Considered that, so I swapped the MAF from the other commodore (VS) with the VT. Exactly the same result. The VS works fine with either MAF. I sprayed the connector contacts with CRC contact cleaner etc etc. Any more tips?

VT has flat spots on fuel, works FINE on LPG???

Hi all, I bought my VT a year ago, and at the time it was a cheap buy, neither running 100% on petrol or LPG (It is factory LPG, with an IMPCO gas mixer). Over the last 12 months, i've got the LPG system sorted (the converter needed a new sponge and a couple of parts relpaced). The LPG side...

Help from VX owners! Need info installing VX manual boot release cable on VT

Yes, there is a button in the glovebox, but it is electrical and also operates the same electric boot solenoid that the remote key boot release operates. I need a "plan B" for WHEN the electrical solenoid stuffs up. The VX has a cable release for when this happens.

Help from VX owners! Need info installing VX manual boot release cable on VT

Can anyone help with this? I'm scared the electric boot solenoid will fail and i'll be locked out of my boot. I Can't even climb through the middle of the back seat, cuz i've got a whopping huge LPG cylinder blocking the way!

Why wont my VT go hard when I accelerate??

Just an update to my post yesterday - my VT is fine if I manually select the gears (its an auto gearbox), or if I put it in "power" mode. I have since read that the transmission shift points are controlled entirely by the PCM (which uses the throttle position sensor and the speed sensor to...

[VT-VX] HOWTO - Replacing fuel injectors and cleaning plenum chamber on VT commodore

The throttle response is much better when running on LPG, and the idle is much smoother after cleaning the plenum chamber. She runs great on fuel now, no more flat spots! It was well worth the effort.

    Vt On Gas Backfiring

I have two commodores, both on LPG. One is a VT factory LPG installation, and the other is a VS aftermarket conversion. The trick to avoiding backfiring is to USE GENUINE GM IGNITION LEADS, and to use NGK BPR7EF-15 plugs. The BPR7 is one heat range cooler than the BPR6 and work better with...

Why wont my VT go hard when I accelerate??

This sounds a lot like my VT - she also struggles off the mark. Sometimes, it feels like it's taking off in second gear. When it's driving at speed (80kmh or so), it behaves fine and kicks back if you give her some throttle. It's just off the mark she's very sluggish. Also, when its in...

[VT-VX] HOWTO - Replacing fuel injectors and cleaning plenum chamber on VT commodore

My commodore, which has now done 260,000kms (which has a factory LPG installed) is starting to idle roughly. When the A/C (or climate control in my case) is activated, it idles fine due to the computer increasing the idle to compensate for the extra load of the A/C compressor. Also, she has a...

Help from VX owners! Need info installing VX manual boot release cable on VT

Hi Guys, I have recently removed my VT red reflective decor panel from my boot, and replaced it with a VX executive decor panel. This is fine, and all is well... however if my electronic boot solenoid fails I won't be able to get into the boot since the VX decor panel doesn't have a hole...

    Camira

That is the biggest load of **** i've ever read! I owned a JB 1982 SL/E camira for 13 long years... the longest 13 years in my life. I had everything replaced at least once. Engine, transmission, CV joints (lost count how many times they would go clunk clunk clunk). It was off the road more...

VN-VS Gearbox Fluid and Filter Change (Auto)

Ok, after doing this job last weekend on my VS series II, I will never do it again! It was a really dirty job! If you want to get your hair drenched in transmission fluid, go right ahead. This stuff stinks when it comes out of your gearbox, too. Tips for newbies... USE A TARP! It's a...

VT engine rev drop on constant throttle?

Hi All, Wondering if anyone has experienced this, or has any suggestions on what I should look for to fix it. If I am driving at say 70kms an hour on a straight road (say engine revs are 1400 rpm), and I accelerate gently to about 1800 rpm, the car accelerates gently, and then the revs...

vs v6 idles rough & rich

Hi, I have the EXACT same problem (not sure if it is the same side of the engine), but I have a VS V6 series II (ECOTEC motor). One side of the engine runs very rich (drivers side), yet the other 3 cylinders on the other side run nice (you can tell by looking at the spark plugs - drivers...

Thanks for all your replies thus far. I went past Super Cheap Auto this afternoon, and they had a plastic headlight refurbishment kit - I bought it for $20 (got ripped off majorly), but just wanted to see what was inside and what their instructions had to say. Basically, 4 grades of wet &...

VT headlights hazy and need cleaning - help!

I have a VT series 1, and the headlights are very hazy. They seem to be made from some type of plastic rather than glass. Does anyone have any advice on what to use to clean them up? I've tried the usual windex glass cleaner, but it doesn't seem to have done a thing. Any ideas would be...
