Krilnik, i can relate to the tapping sound only when the motor is warm in my VR V6, where as when its cold the sound isnt there. Im not sure what the tapping sound is though, I service it every 7000k's. How many k's on your car? mines on 260000k's.. Dont use oil additives. Try the Penrite 20w60...

Have you been using the heater? I find when im using the heater the coolant in the resevour fluctuates, which i guess should happen a bit correct me if im wrong

Hey, I have a couple of electric antenna switches one is for up and one for down (picture shown) that fit just below the radio... of a vr commodore im not sure which pin is for what on the rear of the switch for wiring it up.. ( such as ground, ignition 12V.. etc.) there is 4 pins on the back...

no i havnt removed the bellmouth..... its a standared exhaust which is sounding like its forming a hole in it somewhere becuase of a low airy exhaust note now... so i guess it could be what was said earlier. im noticing now that on warmer mornings when i start it sometimes doesnt make any...

sorry for the late response... yeah i had a feeling it would be the harmonic balancer as it does feel a bit rough too, it has been changed once before though. the rattle you say may be the pistons, you mean the piston rings could be worn? im suprised you didnt mention the top end at all...

My VR v6 had this tick (about 2 per second at idle) which is slowly getting louder which is in phase with a slightly lower knocking sound.. the ticking sound sounds more like comming from under the car and the knock sounds more when inside the car... and also theres a rattle like shaking...
