Probably wont help but my VY SS made a noise which sounded like it was coming from that area, turned out to be the back exhaust mount had cracked and would tap on its bracket at certain revs, causing said noise.

Mine already has a sunroof :P Sorry couldn't help myself haha

My VY SS averages over 400km/tank, usually 15litre per hundred and thats at a shitty 40km/h average, cammed, lowered, loves towing my dirtbike. 8.9 on the highway too :)

Shouldnt cost much and any professional automotive place should be able to do it, hopefully without cracking the paint :)

I would presume that wheel would be 8inch so best suited would be 235/245.

Best i get in town is usually around 15l/100km average 40km/h and on the highway best has been 8.9l/100km average about 105km/h :)

Cheers mate, the previous owner colour coded the front grill and rear lower bumper, it distinguishes it from other SS's quite nicely :)

The Duspeed OTR is very nice and looks rather stockish so to speak :)

Go to a mechanic and get them to check the codes, probably a o2 sensor or similar :)

I dont think it really needs anything more, its been cammed(unsure of specs), twin 2.5 exhaust, duspeed otr intake/maffless tune, sitting on kings spring superlows, 20inch supersports with sunroof and leather interior, still very driveable and doesnt pick up to much attention :) A4 4700...

Sorry to say but that could be quite normal, this week mine has been 16.4l/100km average speed 43km/h, although i went thrashing around last night.

Bit of an update, i have the replace the hose in question and also went to a mates and he read the codes, obviously the maf sensor came up since i have a maffless tune but that wouldn't be causing the code, and more interestingly the knock sensor code which he cleared 3 times and then it didn't...

Funny you should say that, a mate helped me check today and it didnt show any codes what so ever, although when i was changing the o2 sensor i noticed that the hose on top of the engine which looks like a breather which connect the drivers bank, passenger bank and also the throttle body has tape...

Thanks for the reply i plan on doing so sometime this week, am still wondering if there should be some sort of numbers appearing on the dash if it has lodged a code instead of all 000000000000?

Hope the engines alright, i always thought the sensors in these only work for a short while, eg if the coolant starts running low it sends up a warning but if it completely drains then the warning goes away?

I am amazed guys, had a lean on the front end yesterday, it made a noise, turns out both strut top mounts were shagged, replaced them both and all my troubles are gone. Thanks again. Matt.

I was sure that was the noise i was hearing unless its further up under the exhaust heat shield where i haven't put anything around it because its difficult to access? Ill give it a shot mate, thanks for your input, much appreciated :)

Unfortunately i had this noise prior to getting my towbar installed, might try pedders 28 point safety check.

Had a look all over the car again tonight, check all the brakes, nothing loose. Swaybar bushes seem fine and the link pins are the same. Which bush was the culprit if i may ask? The problem is i bet if i take it to a suspension shop they wont know what it is without replacing everything.

Oh i wish it was something that simple, i checked the entire boot to see if i could notice anything, no cigar :( Any other ideas?

Hey guys, I have a Holden VY SS which has the most annoying rattle type noise which im fairly sure is coming from the back right. Now i have crawled all under the car, had it over the pit, wheel off, shock off to try and find the source of this noise. All the rubbers seem good, everything...

Thanks mate, for all i know the diffs gears might not be standard although i think it is as it cruises about the same rpm as a mate at 110km/h. And yes she is a little lumpy, its a well suited cam as its still driveable which it needs to be :)
