RE003 are brilliant, cannot recommend enough. Not sure I'd classify them as cheap but definitely worth the $$$.

Xforce are one of the worst fitting and sounding exhausts, and the v6 sounds terrible to begin with (in my opinion, but I'm sure many others too). I'd save a whole lot of time, money and embarrassment and leave it stock.

He must have meant balancing wheels I reckon, not alignment. Have heard the cheap tyres are a bitch to balance properly.

Always get a laugh at blokes who drive V8's, spend heaps of money on mods, bling bling 22 inch rims and then throw on the shittiest Chinese tyres. If possible wait for a 4 for the price of 3 deal on a reputable brand. I wouldn't run anything less than Bridgestone Potenza, Michelin Pilot Sport...

Lol, think your mate might be talking it up a bit. I know a few blokes like that who carry on, mostly younger ones who think their ecotecs are weapons. You'll be right mate. If you've got traction control leave it on. Be sensible with the right foot and it will be fine.

I agree they are too low, manufacturers should start making them with more ground clearance but smaller wheel arches and lower bodylines, its the bloody huge wheelgap which makes them look terrible.

How high do you want to go? You could pick up some stock springs off someone else for next to nothing, so save a bit of coin there.

colour of the springs is usually an easy indication, anything other than black is likely to be aftermarket and therefore lowered

I would say loss in performance and ride. Ride will be worse obviously because of the lower profile. Performance because of the greater rotational weight, inability to absorb bumps mid-corner etc. I would say 17" is the ideal size for a VS but that's just MO.
