Yeah I wasn't sure as the engines are different, thought there could be a chance though. Just getting mine replaced and a mate said he had a brad new compressor for a VN he owned but never used sitting in his shed and I wondered if it might fit so it could save me some dollars.

Hey Guys, Quick question, does the air conditioning compressor from a VN V6 or V8 commodore fit a VS V6 commodore? The models aren't that far apart but the compressor might be different. Does anyone know for sure? Cheers

Yeah mine was more of a stutter than a surge, not sure if you are talking about the same sorta thing. But yes mine was due to the coil breaking down as soon as any load was placed on the cylinders it was responsible for, generally the 1500-2000 rpm range

Best thing is to block the entrance to the airbox, use and angle grinder and cut a circular hole through the bottom of the airbx then also a hole through the thin metal underneath. Pretty easy to hook up your own, I own a VS exec and saw them in a mates VS calais. So I just ran some wires from my cig illum wire and a ground wire and put in green single LEDs under the centre console and also the front footwells which already have a precut hole for the LED there :)

Nah its pretty much there constantly, but you are right there is almost no point in changing them because it seems to have no effect on the car except for the noise. Only asking because if it was cheap and easy I would do it just to rid myself of the constant ticking.

I used silicon spray you get it from supercheap. Its a lubricant but unlike WD40 its non greasy and wont cause slippage, sprayed it on the belt and pulleys all good so far.

Haha yeah my 1996 VS V6 commodore is a country pack, hence higher than normal springs. And they rock I can hit speedbumps tonnes faster than a lowered car. The lowest needed is the stock sports suspension in the sport model commodores, called FE2? Not sure on the name of them.

Yeah didnt ever realise there was another connection back there. I cant believe I didnt see it as I was unscrewing and rescrewing the screw that holds selector rod for hot/cold air all the time and never noticed it.
