Something odd or not quite right you saw today???

    3G, Next G, HSDPA - Please explain

There are currently two main HSDPA networks in Australia. NextG is just a brand name for Telstra's HSDPA network which runs off their 850MHz network. Optus has a HSDPA network running on their 2100MHz network in metro areas and 900MHz in regional areas. Vodafone/3 are in the process of...

    Nascar

We've only just gotten One HD here so I've never seen the start of the Nascar before. Just found it really strange that they would bring religion into the pre-race show. I don't have a problem with it but I would imagine a lot of people do.

    Nascar

I'm watching NASCAR on One HD and before the start of the race the announcer was actually praying to god and asking him to watch over their troops and the racers and stuff. What a strange... strange country. What about all the drivers and spectators that are atheists or from other religions...

    TV stations Stupid time slots!!!

The peak volume of ads is no louder than the actual programs. They just use compression technologies to make sure all the audio is as loud as it legally can be. (eg. tv program has mostly quiet scenes with a big BANG now and then, whereas the whole advertisement audio is as loud as the BANG) It...

What is your view on smoking? (and cigarette warning labels)

I honestly don't know anyone who enjoys smoking. The smokers I know only do it because they are addicted and can't, or don't choose to, quit. There's no arguing it's a waste of money and it's a filthy habit. It definitely reduces stress and anxiety if you are already addicted to it. I'm...

Refused Insurance to drive VE SV6

What is your point? Would you rather be in a VK if you were hit by a 4WD? Or did you completely miss the point of my post?

Refused Insurance to drive VE SV6

Hmmm... so a 5-star ANCAP safety rating means nothing to you then? I'd much rather be in a VE with airbags than a VK with nothing if some hoon or out-of-control driver was flying towards me from the opposite side of the road!!! Nothing but prejudice.

QANTAS: Two mid-air engine failures in as many days...

Wrong. It used to be an acronym (Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Ltd) when the company was first registered many years ago. It is now a proper name, one of the few English words not having a "u" after the "Q". List of English words containing Q not followed by U -...

    Call of Duty: Black Ops

Infinity Ward created the fantastic game engine that debuted in MW and has been improved and continued on through to Black Ops. Treyarch are basically there to fill in the gaps between IW releases, using the IW engine, and keep Activision happy. In my opinion the IW games have been the superior...

Coalition unveil their broadband and internet policy

Example - Exetel's NBN prices for data usage ($1.00 per GB) are higher than currently using common regional ADSL2+ providers. Under this pricing a 40 GB Blu-Ray image would cost $40 to download. Delimiter – Exetel’s NBN pricing: Cheap as chips Example 2 -On Internode's current 100 Mbps...

Coalition unveil their broadband and internet policy

I'd like to have 100Mbps+ speeds (I'm currently stuck with 1.5Mbps laggy wireless 3G because Telstra has run out of avaliable ports on our exchange) but is now the right time to upgrade the entire back bone?

Coalition unveil their broadband and internet policy

Some fibre optic networks can operate at incredible speeds but will the government implement the technology? Just because that network can handle 10 Gbps doesn't mean the servers, workstations and infrastructre can.

Coalition unveil their broadband and internet policy

I'd prefer to download more than download faster. Whats the point of a 100 Mbps connection if a lot of servers and most international servers won't be able to provide us with data at that speed. Whats the point of a 100 Mbps connection if you can only download a smaller amount of data? Why...

  34. albert5268

Coalition unveil their broadband and internet policy

100 Mbps is overkill for the majority of people. I can't see how the government can spend $47bn and keep the cost of downloads (per mb) down to affordable prices. It will take several years for the NBN to reach most homes anyway. It seems at this stage the coalition's network will take less time...

    Carbon Trading Scheme? WHY???

    Carbon Trading Scheme? WHY???

What are you on about ?? No need to be an arsehole mate. I said "Whether you believe humans are contributing to climate change or it is just happening naturally as part of a cycle it doesn't change the fact it is happening." Anyway I personally don't know if we are (I haven't done that...

    Carbon Trading Scheme? WHY???

Higher levels of CO2 means lower levels of O2 and higher relative surface temperatures. Humans currently pollute the atmosphere with over 130 times more CO2 than volcanoes do. Whether you believe humans are contributing to climate change or it is just happening naturally as part of a cycle it...
