    Vf2 GTS shock absorbers advice

I got no idea :( I'll have a crawl underneath to see I can see stickers but I don't fancy my chances

    Vf2 GTS shock absorbers advice

It seems that one of my rear shock absorbers has begun to weep. Car is a VF2 GTS so has the MRC shocks and everything (except tyres obviously) is still original from factory in 2015 - we just hit 91k km. Looking for some guidance; Any idea of part numbers etc to try and find replacements...

    Electrics on VF Towbar

I had the Holden towbar option fitted to my HSV before delivery. Pretty sure it was dealer fit despite asking for it to be done by Holden (I was getting a black roof so it had to go to the special processing anyway). Anyhow, fact is dealer has no idea what is really included. The electrics...

    VF with Opti-coat +

Northern beaches? Speak to Ben at Solartint in Brookvale. Got my GTS done there nearly a year ago and it's totally awesome. Iirc opticoat pro+ only with the appropriate paint correction was $795. Bear in mind that was a year ago. I paid $1095 for the same job in Melbourne on a...

    Reverse Camera prob

Why does it have to be wired at all? it has blue tooth already right? and if the bandwidth of that isn't enough I can't imagine a WiFi radio being overly expensive or difficult. Sent from my GT-I9305 using Forum Fiend v1.2.10.

    Commodore Name Sentenced To Death

Do you not think the brand damaged itself when it abandoned Australian manufacturing? GM I think is the only manufacturer that uses different names in each country. They kept Holden when they bought the company to give the view to the public that 'nothing changed'. Now, I think there's a...

I hope that's fake. The whole 'VT snout' is looking very dated now and they need to give it up already.

    VE SS instant fuel usage

What about something like: ScanTool.net LLC - ScanGauge II - Stand Alone Scan Tools - Scan Tools - ScanTool.net Or if you've a Garmin GPS https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=38354# not sure it does instant readout though, but it tracks your overall efficiency

    Ve series 2

The SS/SSV front bar looks like it's already been involved in an accident to me -the video makes it look it's bent back. Not sure I see the point of the headlight change neither, too subtle to be worth the tooling efforts and I actually think the old headlights look better. I like the screen...

Fitting Clubsport style front bar on ve ssv

I've seen it done to an SV6 and with a decent paint job it looks ok. Personally I think the SS front looks better that HSV, but I prefer the HSV rear lights. I find the HSV nostril bit looks very dated - when the E launched I asked if I could have one without the nostril (or the SS front on...

    Davey's MY09 VE SSV

I think the interior lighting looks great. What colour are your dial faces? Mine are blue and I'm wondering how the blue needles look during the day/early evening. Does the two tone rev counter (red from 6k) happen by default or did you request it that way? I just checked mine and everything...

What is the point of bigger rims?

I believe there's something about the gyroscopic effect too with larger rims- and that makes the wheels resist turning. No idea if there's much difference between the 18/19/20" that the VE was designed for, but the 22's available are definately affect handling. Top Gear Australia had the...

does the sv6 have keys that have memory on them for the seats.

The lack of that feature is one of the larger disappointments for me with the VE. It's my first ever brand new car and I assumed all cars would have it by now. for what it's worth though, I don't believe the intelligence would be in the key, rather it would be stored in a chip in the car...

    SSV Manual Gearbox woes

As far as I'm aware, the entire gearbox was replaced. I don't have an invoice/service summary yet as Holden HQ want to charge 25% of the box cost to me (citing the fact I've had 3 years use out of it) - the dealer is still trying to get that waived considering there's such a long record of gear...

    SSV Manual Gearbox woes

All, I need some help/advice. The gear change in my car has never, in my opinion, been as it should. I reported at the first 3000km service that 1st to 2nd gear change was particularly notchy/lumpy at times but no fault was found. Over time the experience became worse, with 1st and...

Change information on Upper Center Display ? (SSV)

If look closely, it's not a proper LCD display - it's just some cut-out with red lights behind it . that's why it looks pants and can't be used for anything useful.

Do the DVD players play mp3?

I'm curious; my SSV plays mp3's straight off a CD which is great since I don't have to worry about my original CD's getting warped in the sun or whatever, but it would be even better if it'd do the same with DVD since obviously you'd get about 7 times as many tracks on a DVD. So I was wondering...

HSV E2 led lights on SSV???

do you have any links? be interested to see how they look and how much etc. I've a place selling 'halo' packs but it turns out you have to bake your headlight, pull it apart, fit the bits and reseal - no way. I like the audi look of LED inside the headlight

    black holden badge?

I'm not sold on the whole black badge thing myself (each to his own, I like shiny), I DO really dig the front spoiler thing though. Did you do that yourself or is it a purchasable item from somewhere? Not that it'd probably look any good on my whitey but always nice to know options

    HSV gearbox on SSV?

Any know if the clubsport gearbox will bolt straight onto the 6L engine in the SSV? If it does, will anything else need to change (like the prop)? I'm a bit over my gearbox - it's mechanically difficult to get into 1st and reverse at times, and you have to yank it into 2nd with a clunk to...

I'm A Mod Newbie And Need Serious Advice

From what I understand, headers and extractors are the same thing - in the uk we called em exchaust manifolds :) They take the gases from the head (hence header) and extract it to the exhaust pipe. Nowadays a catalytic converter (cat) sits between the header and the rest of the exhaust (cat...

    Competitive mode on e series 1 ?

Whilst it's probably possible technically, where's the business sense in making it available? Surely HSV would rather you buy an E2 than mod your E1? Saying that I'd be really interested in hearing if you are successful in getting it done. Be kinda nice to add it to my SSV for the launch...

How many Kms do you get to a tank?

For me - SSV 6L V8 - before exhaust and CAI - Around town I'd get about 14-16l/100km depending on the mood, and around 10.4 on the highway. With sports exhaust, tune and CAI, I get around town 17-19l/100km and 8.2l/100km on the highway. I suspect the higher town usage is thanks to the...

Who hates the VE Manual Gearbox?

I've complained about 2nd gear since around the 3,000km service and apparently the issue is just me. I often pull off in 2nd so I can avoid the 1st to 2nd change (there's plenty of torque in the V8 to make this viable). I'm kinda glad to see there's others with similar issues as it means...

    Runaway Throttle

The car went into a dealership yesterday and they couldn't find any faults :( They reckoned the cause is the re-program that was done when I got the CAI/Exhaust fitted (not sure what it was but I assume a Mafless tune - I got about 20% more power according to the dyno print). So I'll need to...

    Runaway Throttle

All, My wife has complained that on occasion, our SSV seems to 'runaway'. Her description is that it's like the cruise control has cut in and is taking the car back to a set speed, or similar to the crawl on an automatic. Our car is a manual. It only seems to happen at start-up as she's...

Ping and knock noise on start up VE manual 6.0 Litre?

I get no such noise on hot start up on my 6L. *cold* start up I get a short rattle until oil pressure builds, but hot is fine. hope that helps.

RECALLS: VE & WM Series Holden Vehicles

I was getting a clunking noise from the front since around October last year on my SS-V. The dealer from which I bought the car basically treated me like an idiot twice, as if the noises are in my head! In December I went to HunterHolden - they initially tightened some stuff and lubricated...

Tyre sizes on stock SS rims

not sure about the legal aspect, but I think you'd need to be aware of the risk for increased sidewall flex which could really affect the handling (and not in a good way).

Does anyone know the offical fuel consumption rate for a VE?

On a run (Sydney/Melbourne) in my SSV, E10 gives around 10.6L/100k, and Vpower around 10.1. Around town - E10 sucks - I couldn't get it below 18 and that was being REAL gentle. Vpower - an easy 15 including some squirts. low 14's high 13's possible with conservative driving.

    paint protection

Great thread :) I was looking at a new clubby just recently and the dealer tried the upsell of all those paint protection things. The rather attractive girl they sent in claimed she's just got it applied to her lexus (good ad for holden!) so it must be good!?? Anyhow, she reckoned a damp...

    2008 VE SSV Sportswagons Rubbish

My 06 SSV doesn't have those kind of panel alignment issues thankfully - maybe they're not taking quite so much care now due to the GFC and having to drop prices? I'd definately be back in the dealer to get it resolved though, 'cos resale will suffer big time as others have said.

What the? Surely that can't be 'normal'? to cut the chassis to get the engine out I mean.

    GTS tail lights on VE

yes but the electrics etc have to go somewhere. I doubt that the regular chassis will have the HSV position holes cut out, and similarly I wouldn't expect the HSV's to have holes in the regular light positions. There's probably be some kind of pattern there though. I just think having holes...

    GTS tail lights on VE

I think you'll need to cut into the metal work to punch out suitable holes. and then cap and fill the section where the original lights come out of. you can buy the lights here here thopugh : Preformance HSV

    VE Window Tint

I don't normally like red cars - but I have to say that looks bloody good! Did you consider adding SSV tail-lights to finish it off?

    VE Window Tint

If it's illegal then the isn't roadworthy. If it ain't roadworthy, you're not insured. Least that's how it works in the UK and I assume it's the same here. Insurance companies will look for any excuse to avoid payouts so why take the chance? I got the darkest legal tint on mine and it's...

    New 09 Badge's

That's an interesting move. It was either Wheels or MOTOR magazine that tested the 18"s at the end of 2006 early 2007, and found the Potenza's had far better grip (using the SS). Haven't seen anything more recent though, nor on the 19's that SSV comes with as standard. I've stuck with the...
