You probably won't get a response you like, no. The APS vehicles have bolt on mods (of which are tuned, which is not an uncommon practice among EFI vehicles of today). www.airpowersytems.com.au for your amusing request for evidence. How many times do I have to say that I never said every...

Clix, you're still making no point at all.....you either can't read or your head is so far up your ass that your perception is somehow distorted... You ******* crack me up though, you'd do the special olympics debating team proud. Before you consider it, please don't bother pointing out that...

I never said they all run 10's or that they run them on a regular basis..... Proven wrong? What are you on about? I was never trying to prove anything haha. More so I never said anything that could be proven wrong besides the mere laziness of not inclucing a hundreth in an et....big deal...

I'm not even going to bother, 10.9- 10.98...hahaha And going on about the VL being lighter, it is? Surprise, surprise. I was referring to the lack of internal engine mods. Get over it, make a point rather than worrying about statistics. It's not a spade, it's 'shovelling' the proverbial.

Ah yes they are, (read) a 10.9 last time I checked, APS Phase III kit which is just typical turbo mods that are "only bolt ons". No "Headwork and Cam" modifications, we're talking forced induction here chief. Just keep detonation at bay, while feeding it boost ;) Nicely balanced I6's love it...

The guy sounds like a typical whinger who either A) screwed his local service managers wife or B) Has no mechanical knowledge and drove it like a fool during the running in period. I love Holdens but I'll be the first to say the BA is one of the best Australian built cars we've seen in a long...

    vr odometer

They should have just replaced the gear and not the complete odometer if it was broken...... Take it to an instrument fitter/Holden Dealer with evidence of original kilometers (service records etc). While it's easy to do, it shouldn't be spoken of in forums or be done in the backyard...

    Vs Sss??

Almost 100% sure the SSS was a Sydney dealer option ie: nothing to do with Holden. I've seen them around before in a Dark Green, sporting decals which use a similar font to that of the SS. I won't echo the S/SS info. Jake.

Signs Aussie car makers aren't facing reality...

Be good now kids :bop: I'm off to get drunk and forget about the price of fossil fuels and JC's politics. P.S That's a sh!tload of advertising in your sig Julie, I thought we had a new sponser for a second.

Signs Aussie car makers aren't facing reality...

I think others are missing the point, the V8 is a minority driven Australian vehicle and always has been, even if it has been related to the greater porportion of Aussie Muscle cars. This isn't a thread about the peer populatiry of the V8, nor is it a V8 bashing thread.. I actually agree with...

    New Years Resolutions?

Well my previous New Years resolutions have been to quit smoking, but I did that 3mths ago now. Seemed to be easier not placing any empathisis on success, just thinking f%$k it, I'll give it a go. I'm with those resolving to have no resolutions. Conciousness sometime New Years day would be a...

No worries, hopefully you have more luck than I did chasing one up. If you do manage to get one from Holden share the part # with us. ;)

some people do not deserve nice cars!

Judging by the crime scene tape on the rear rim I'd say it was stolen...... It happens and the owner is probably driving another as we speak. ;)

    Are series 1 & 2 engines interchangeable?

Are you 100% sure Garth? Can't you just retain the series 1 headers and o2? I had a SII ECU in my old S1 for about 2 months and it run the vehicle fine through the S1 loom. On top of that allmost every S1 I've seen that's had an exhange motor fitted got the SII. I'm not saying your wrong...

    Sluggish VP V8

I like mine set so it's fullly kicked down at WOT (wide open throttle), some are set up earlier but you can get nasty things like the box wanting to kick down to 3rd at 210kph. Under controlled Qld Raceway conditions of course ;)

    Are series 1 & 2 engines interchangeable?

It should be fine Scott in the wiring dept. Maybe a slightly longer coolant temp sensor wire if anything. Can't think of much more off the top of my head. All minor thou. Computer wise they're the same with the exception of the memcal. The series II had a revised memcal to suit the subdued cam...

    Sluggish VP V8

That's true but surely he's tried manually shifting the old girl by now. It's one of the better ways to milk decent shifts out of a stock TH700 behind the 5.0L. I never used to shift mine any other way.

    Sluggish VP V8

Apparently the speed sensor readings in EFI Live and some other backyard progs have a bug which contributes to inaccurate data. No intermittently is doubtful unless your pump is to blame, As I said....test fuel pressure. I never meant the Coolant temp sensor was to blame, more along the...

    VN Odometer

It's simply stripped cogs, being made of plastic they become brittle and worn from both age and people resetting the odo whilst moving. With the instrument cluster apart, remove the odometer paying attention to the right hand side where the cogs lie. You 'should' have a grey and cream colored...

    Sluggish VP V8

Check the alternator output under load, just suggesting it in regards to all the electrical dramas you've had. Then check the coolant temp sensor, maybe share the efi live/winaldl records of temps. Could be something as simple as overfuelling, so I'd check the thermostat too. It plays a part in...

    My cat

We always put our cat out at night. Makes you question all the BS about household cats being the predators, they seem to be in more danger themselves. On the actual topic of Garths cat, I'm speechless, I can't comprehend how someone could do something that deranged. The worst part is people...

Oopsie!! Cleaned throttle body, now engine light always on!!!

Dave, check that the MAP sensor hose is secure and sealed at both the TB and the MAP itself (MAP= thing screwed to the firewall just to the right of your TB) Then check that the TPS harness/plug is inserted ok with decent contact, same goes for the IAC mofo. Above is all that could be...

    EFI 5L exhaust sizes

Sounds identical to the setup I ran on my old 304 except I was stuck with stock hsv headers. Couldn't really fault it, well with the exception of it being loud under full throttle (let the neighbours know a V8 is coming loud :p ). That was with twin lukey race mufflers. I've also had a 3"...

Why don't you just have the badges left off by the panel shop? If you don't like certain ones missing then fix them back on at home with double sided emblem/badge tape or Sikaflex. Heres your rear shot chopped ;) I'll do the others when I get some spare time.

    Best Sway Bar

Stick with whiteline now that you've started. They're track tested and make for a very tight, yet drivable package. I remember a friends VS auto V6 with the complete whiteline package. Sitting on yokohama A539's it could absolutely dust another friends 5 speed VS Senator through the twisty...

How hard is it to rebuild a five speed.

If your familiar with an Aussie 4 speed the MF5 won't confuse you. Without pulling it down, listen for bearing noise, input/output shaft noise (almost sounds like lifter clack if it's floating). make sure it grabs every gear and doesn't jump out. I'm sure you already know this so just your usual...

What does a vl redline at???

Probably the right choice Corindi, while the chip removed the factory limiter the auto still shouldn't rev out to 6000rpm before changing. It sounds like it's getting a little lazy. In factory forum the Jatcos are awful, but what can you expect from a Jap 4 cylinder box. You'll be alot...
