How many Kms would you guys be happy with a ls1 v8 with over 200k. If it had great history that is.

Good point Franklin, parts are everywhere. Reason why I ask about Kms, my last v6 vy tranny went at 181kms.

+1 for service history! I bought 9 months ago a VY acclaim wagon with 218k. Few months later had to replace motor because the bottom end went, along with valley and tappet gaskets, power steering/water pump. My bad because I needed a car in a rush. Never again.. Condition, condition...

I'm looking at a v8 wagon totally stock exhaust. My wife doesn't want a super loud exhaust, so we just want to free up the exhaust really. What options have you guys followed? I am keeping it totally stock so at the lights you would never know..

The ks are a killer mate hey. I'm stressing at a v8 that has 220ks on it. By the sounds of it, it doesn't have much history and your gonna have to spend a bit. I'm a neat freak and a grubby interior wouldn't do it for me.

Well that's it.. I drove a vy ss a few years back and I was hooked.. I guess you can read on paper everything under the sun, but driving is a different story

Yeah true mate, at the end of the day its only worth what ones willing to pay for it. I guess I came on here just to get a feel for what others would be willing to pay as I haven't been in the market for a v8 Berlina for ages.

Well I said at first 7k and he nearly had a heart attack. He was referencing it to other cars for sale and all of them seem way over priced. From vxs to vys people on Carsales for example are asking pretty high prices. I don't know if it'd because v8s are far and few in between in these series...

Yeah I was just looking at that, redbook Some V8 owners seem to have extremely high price expectations... This bloke wants 10k which is way over priced. I don't think a dollar over 7500 is worth it. But I'm out here asking because I'm not fully in tune with current v8 decent values.

Well its 2014 and there are still alot of these out there. I'm a bit weary at times of this gearbox as my last car the tranny died at 180k. I'm looking at a mint V8 with this tranny but it has 225k. Only second owner and good history. How reliable has yours been up till now?
