VE series 2 OBD2 or CAM-BUS real time tools

Thanks for all the replies, we just imported one from the UK called an OBDKEY. Yet to try it out, but I'm sure it will work pretty well.

VE series 2 OBD2 or CAM-BUS real time tools

I am looking for a tool for real time data on engine sensors and other car data while not being in the car. It is a race converted SS ute with a reasonably standard engine. The tool needs to be able to provide real time information to a portable device via WIFI, and bring up error codes and have...

    4WD Locations close to Melbourne?

I just bought a Nissan Patrol and I'm looking to take it offroad on weekends. Problem is, I have no clue about any spots where I can drive out for the day, or maybe overnight, and drive home. I'm pretty green to offroading, so I need a track that's easy enough to begin on. If anyone knows of...

    Sub placing

Too powerful to pump right up. They put out 350rms each, off a 2700w mono block amp. Plus I've got 260w front splits amped off a fusion 2 chanel amp. And a doubble din DVD head unit. Bloody good system and its all hidden away.

    Sub placing

Ive got 2 12" subs (one behind each seat). The fibreglass moulded boxes hardly comprimise leg room and they are barely noticeable once in. Look on this website and add them on FB. Well worth it seeing as they're the cheapest sound pkace in Aust. Bayside Auto Styling. Take a look under sound...

    VZ V6 Aisin gearbox removal.

I just had a fiddle with the search function, but I couldn't find any procedure on how to remove an Aisin transmission from the car. I heard someone talking about an internal slave cylinder and how much of a c*nt it is to bleed. Is there any link to a page where there is a good procedure on...

    VZ SIDI engine swap.

All legal things aside, I just need to know if the SIDI 3.6L will be the same mounting and plumbing as the 175. Very keen to do this and I'm sure by the time I'm off my P's, a second hand SIDI will be readily available.

    VZ SIDI engine swap.

But seriously, will a VE SIDI 3.6L drop in to replace the standard motor? With the same gearbox and mounts?

    VZ SIDI engine swap.

Honestly, I love the V8s. But I want to do something different to all the other ute owners. Instead of having a big, lumpy 8 which sounds nice and deep, I want a worked, fast revving, supercharged 6 to be different. I'm sure it will cost heaps more than simply dropping a big 8 in, but I want the...

    VZ SIDI engine swap.

Planning to run the 175 into the ground or when the timing chains snap. So that when I'm off my Ps I can throw a SIDI in and work the living hell out of it. At least that's the plan.

    VZ SIDI engine swap.

My car has the Alloytec 175 with a manual box. I see much more modification potential in the 210kw direct injected 3.6L SIDI in the VE. Is it possible to swap the SIDI engine into a VZ engine bay? I understand the engines are basically the same apart from the heads and fuel system, but I don't...

    Opinions please :)

A minispool is a locked diff, you will hop around corners and the subframe will sh*t its self. Go for the LSD, its more expensive, but it is worth it in the long run. I've been looking ar this mob for a while now and since i called them, I'm convinced of their quality. Although, I wouldnt have a...

    Driveshaft problems anyone?

I service my car myself, but most likely it was abused on the test drive. I work in a truck workshop and its our job to kane the living hell out of anything we test drive. As far as a mechanic is concerned, the more problems he can find, the better he does. So I strongly reccomend looking for...

    Common faults in VZ utes

Not to mention timing chains that will go around 150,000ks. Also, the clutch fitted to the V6 is not up to ute standards.

190 alloytech vs 175 alloytech difference???

The 175 can be equipped with the manual. My ute is just an S pack manual with the 175. The gearbox is pretty good, but the clutch is weak as piss

Redlining: How bad is it really?

Weather its a manual or auto, the limiter will stop the engine revving any higher. Unless you manage to accidently grab 1st at 100kph, then I'm sure something would go bang

    Help: lowering vz this weekend

Mate, I'm on Ultralows and it rides fine on the stock shocks. I recently put in some Monroe GT lowered shocks in the rear, only because the stocks were getting old. The fronts though, I kept standard.

    Stereo Full Volume

I got 4 speaker pack from Pioneer and a Fusion sub/amp combo hooked into the factory head unit so it all looks stock as a rock but sounds awesome. The only downside is the speakers can handle so much more than the head unit can put out, so it likes to distort. But it came with a free Poker kit.

Exhaust Choice - VZ ute v6

I'd go for the twin system personally. I know everyone bangs on about back pressure and all that crap, but when it comes down to it, more exhaust is more exhaust. Plus it's still got those two long pipes leading towards the cats anyway which are standard width, so it does'nt play too much with...

Gears crunch shifting 2nd to 3rd

Shut up sedan boy, the 175 in the utes ran a 6 spd box. If its under 100,000 clicks, then theres no reason for 3rd to be crunching. I'd guess a previous owner (if it's second hand) has been thrashing it and trying to grab 3rd too quick. our work Hilux crunches 5th coz everyone tries to flat...

VZ UTE - Slimline Subs/Interior Modifications

I just chucked a Fusion amp/sub combo under the passenger seat with a few screws. It has the amp built into it and puts out the same amount of power as a good 10 inch. It cost about $280 from Autobarn (on special). I also put in 4 Pioneer speakers, I'm doing the head unit soon as the stock unit...

Please help guys, powertrain warning light drives me mad!!!

Not sure if this would be the fix, but the oil pressure sensor will usualy go at around 150000kms. Maybe yours has failed early. This is an expensive part and only change it if you are sure of this. The Holden dealer should be able to look up the fault code with the diagnostic tool, but...
