Hey guys, I fitted a head unit & stacker from a VT Calais into a mates series 2 VX Exec wagon and I noticed that it only has one plug and has a couple of different wires. It already has the steering wheel controls, but I'm guessing that I have to alter a couple of wires to get the steering wheel...

Well...after having a better look around on the net at what VY SV8's are selling for, I'm thinking I may as well spend an extra couple of grand a grab one with a few less kms, as there seems to be plenty with low kms selling for around $12k - $14k.

Hey guys, I'm looking at a VY SV8 thats done just under 300,000kms. It's got a full service history right up to it's latest service, and drives really well with no obvious problems. So I'm wondering if there's anything in particular to look at on a car with this many kms?? Also how are the LS1's...

A little while back I started to rebuild a spare low km engine I had for my VR as the old one that's in it has done over 430k is almost rattling itself apart.... The new engine is completely stock, no go-fast gear as it's just a daily driver that gets me to work and back until I get my new car...

And this may be a dumb question, but what exactly does an slr 5000 have over a standard exec?? Cos from the photos it seems to have a rear spoiler, twin pipes and slightly different...

To Wagon Man, I did click on the link and got nothing... To Hako, I have checked all of the main wiring for the charging system, cleaned up a few connectors and earth points, rewired a few connectors...all of appears to be good. The cable behind the alternator seems good.

Already done the brushes, so is still likely to be the regulator? If so I may as grab one if they aren't too expensive.

Which bit is the voltage regulator? Is it the black bit that unscrews, that the brushes are soldered into or is it the bit inside the alternator at the back?

In the past 3 months I have replaced the plugs, oil & filter, fuel filter. I have had the throttle body off and cleaned it up and it looks like new, have run 2 bottles of injector cleaner through it...etc Only thing I haven't changed is the leads as they aren't very old...but I guess it...

Well I'm finally back home after my trip, managed to make it without any issues. And would you believe that the battery light NEVER came on, and then the day after I got home the battery light came on when I drove up to the local corner shop...wtf is with that?? Hasn't done it at all today...

Yeah I've disconnected that big wire and the other plug on the actual alternator and cleaned them up, both appear to be getting a good connection. I've tried to follow the wire's as far back as I can but can't seem to find anything. Hopefully tomorrow when there's better light I'll be able to go...
