if all else fails just keep an eye out for someone selling a complete strut and spring set and chuck that in.. lol. I was ready to burn mine aswell.

I changed the strut top to a new rubber one from a nolathane one and it fixed it, i changed springs at the same time but i don't think that was the issue.

A/C blower fan decided to die on Christmas eve, about 15 mins into a 2 hour drive or a 40degree day. Safe to say my 3yo and 1yo son were pretty happy to get out of the car at the end of it.. New one ordered now.

hey mate, have you changed your strut tops to urethane bush, or do you still have a rubber bush in there?

Yea i only live in a small city, im only the 2nd car here to have a set that i know of..

fortunately for me, they are not as common in SA yet..

Just ordered some more products from the Car Care Product site, for my car for once (I do car detailing on my days off work, so its been a while since ive spent a good amount of time on my own car) so hopefully ill get it done and have some fresh pics up soon.. :)

They were both repco brand, but ive always found their stuff to be quite good.. The wheels are VE supersports.

Its been a long time since my last post, not much has happened though. I changed the strut tops and have nothing but trouble ever since. Just 3 days after installing them i had odd noises coming from the front end, eventually found the NEW bearings had failed and were replaced, it was all back...

Will be doing this in the next couple of days, but just to be clear, once this is done the pink wire does not need to be cut does it? Also, if i havent got the codes listed is it something else or it still possible that this is the fault without the codes being up? Thanks in advance.

Not sure how your roads are over there, but if you do decide on coilovers, be prepared for a bumpy ride.. lol. But they are good for someone who wants/needs to adjust ride height to exact heights..

Yea they are a lovells lowered spring, they were done one side at a time and i don't think the spring ever actually left the strut.. Might have to take them completely apart and check the bearings..

Hi all, i recently had my strut tops replaced on my daily VY exec, and ever since iv'e had a rubbing noise coming from both sides when turning, i had a mate take a look while i turned the wheel and he said it was the spring moving when turning, iv'e taken the struts out to find this. Looks like...

There is quite alot of city driving in that, peak hour traffic included, not just highway driving. Average of around 10l/100km on the highway.

Took the SS for its first decent trip in a while, 700kms over two days for a trip up to Adelaide.. Avg speed of 67km/h @ 14.1/100km with a good squirt here and there..

Changed my sway bar links and strut top mounts.. The strut tops were rooted, so its made a big difference. The sway bar wasn't absolutely necessary but i thought i may as well while the strut was out.. Now its got me wanting to continue on with the rest of the bushes throughout the car.. 20% off...

I love the look of a nice clean black car.. Its amazing the difference the fresh paint and zero rash on the wheels makes to the whole car. I just wish black wasn't so god-damn hard to keep clean!

The new wheels do look better. 20' rims will effect the ride quality a bit, but its still fairly comfortable (my car is anyway). Not sure about vic but in SA you can get genuine supersports with decent tread for around $1500. Be careful with non-genuine wheels, they have a reputation of cracking...

Yea dunno why. No recent infractions. Only reason the lady at Service SA could give was that i was trying to make the jump from a 5.7 to a 6l. Not too fussed now, ill just wait and get a better one..

Nope, because im only permitted my own high powered vehicle, a whole new application has to be lodged for the different car.. Which i did, but was denied..

No longer for sale, i assumed my high powered vehicle exemption would be transferred from my car to the new one, but they wont give me any exemption for it for some reason. so I will just wait another 6 months until i have my full license..
