no I don't have a scantool..............and yes I am wasting money, but some of the things I replaced needed to be for other reasons, ie, fuel pump, CAS, temp sensor, ATS. I've booked in the car at diagnostic centre so will see if they can narrow down the causes. If they do, I'll post an update.

Yep I checked the fuel consumption...............it sucks! :-) The plugs on one bank are blacker than the other side...........meaning that side is running rich??

well when I picked them up, the guy said that they actually weren't bad at all but he still refurbished them. He said they first run a test on them side by side, then put them in a ultrasonic or sonic? bath, new o rings and then retested again. He said if they where crap he would of recommended...

no it doesn't................although I have noticed oil in the exhaust (back garage wall) after starting starting.

I actually didn't pull out the oil separator just the PCV valve and spring was taken out and cleaned. I have changed the intake manifold gaskets..........the white smoke under hard load has been there for a couple of years. Thanks for the purge solenoid pics.

Could be the DFI?..............checked the coil resistance individually and all registered ok. The plenum was dirty as expected, but cleaned all that and the manifold all up. Cleaned the PCV and at the valve was rattling freely as described in the gregorys. The smoke is noticeable when warmed...

replaced the CAS about two months ago. The mechanic "checked" the engine mounts and reckons they look ok.

no I haven't. The mechanic said he tested the TPS resistance and it was ok. How do you clean the two TPS and MAF? carby cleaner or just wipe any dust with a rag when taking them off as I hear they are delicate things?

all sorted............auto electrician found that the ignition module(not the barrel) just under the steering wheel had started to corrode around the connecting terminals so it wasn't sending the correct kill signal when you pulled out the key. Replaced it and all good now.
