If you look really closely at the bumper bar just below the line (on the inside), you will see tiny little crosses moulded into it. These are your drilling points for the lower lip attachment. There are eleven (11) of them. PLUS the two at the wheel arches.

Jewellers screwdrivers work well if you don't have a pick tool. I think that connector from memory only has a plastic tang holding the wire connector in. Lift it up and gently pull on the wire.

I think all VS utes with single spinners had V8 diff internals in them regardless of engine and used synthetic oil the same as LSDs. Slight differences in the housings also. Check the tag on the diff.

Are VE wheels +48 offset? If they are 8" wide anything with that offset and 245 tyres will rub on the inside rear of a VS ute. The fronts will be right.

Depends on the width of the rim. 7" standard. If you go 8", you've lost 13mm (close enough), minus 11mm for the VX wheels. That equals 24mm further into the rear tray, and guess what, they'll rub like a dog with mange. That's a common problem with VS utes and late model wheels. It only affects...

Variable intermittent wipers need the high level BCMs. They will not and cannot work with anything less. Will need a Berlina or Calais wiring harness and BCM putting in.

Thanks for all of that jb4u, but i've got the sites bookmarked with all that info. Does 8BD at the end of the model code sound right? And the VIN doesn't seem specific enough. Just that it's a v8 ute with luxury level "executive, s, or ss". I gather Holden weren't very specific with their VINs...

VS utes can be/are/were both offsets from factory. Standard utes seemed to be 43P, while 'S' and 'SS' versions seemed to be 37P.

What about VS SS S111 utes. Bermuda blue and phantom black are the only colours (300 of each?), but they could be any series 3 utes. Can any one give me any hints on telling a REAL one. All the information I have read seams to be related to the sedans. I am after any VS SS Series111 specific...
