    VE poor brakes when cold

I had this exact problem when I bought my VE 2010 and it was a vacuum leak that was causing it. The engine ran fine though even from start up. Took the mechanics a while to find it as it only occurred when the engine was cold, I.E. first thing in the morning.

    VE Chrome wheel nuts

I just went to the local Holden wrecker after getting a price for genuine and nearly falling off my perch. You can fill your pockets for 6/8ths of FA depending on how mercenary the wrecker is. Get a few spares.

The creaking sound my car makes is driving me insane!!

Had this issue myself. If it's the same problem then solution here... https://forums.justcommodores.com.au/threads/squeaky-seat-in-sv6.256586/#post-2850269

VE V8 VCM OTR Push rivets.

Get them from Aliexpress. Search 'Holden' and 'Scrivet'. Get 100 for SFA. Just have to wait a few weeks for shipping is all. I got a heap of them quite a while ago and just change them out as I destroy them.

    Omega bumper

Note that although the bumpers may fit up, you also need to consider things like the headlights. The series 2 headlights are a slightly different shape along the bottom where they meet up to the bumper so you might have issues if you choose a VE2 bumper.

VE II Aircon only blowing at feet (HELP)

You certainly can. When I went in to my local dealer to have the reversing camera function enabled, the guy I dealt with said seeing as I had paid for an hour's labour we might as well make use of it and while he had his equipment connected he went through and checked all the module firmware...

    Chrome bonnet mould

I've got an unpainted black one from an HSV I think (got it second-hand) fitted to mine. It looks good as I also have the black Sport Armour fitted to the bottom of the front bumper. It doesn't cover much of the badge on the grille.

This outfit here has a lot of clips and bits. Have used them previously from NZ and encountered really good service... http://www.kingswoodcountry.com.au/shop/nuts-bolts-clips/23

    Engine splutter under 2000 rpm

I'd investigate that ticking noise before you go spending any money. It might be an injector playing up.

Check Engine light came on showing following codes.

If you're in NZ, in theory you should be able to get your chains done at the dealers cost under the CGA. https://www.consumer.org.nz/articles/holden-timing-chains-don-t-last-distance

    VE Reversing Camera failing intermittently

The reversing guidelines are built into the IQ so you would get them regardless. The fact that they are displaying tends to suggest the IQ end is OK. You may have a dicky connection or your camera is on its way out. Try re-seating the plug in the boot if it's a sedan (no idea where it is on a...

    ve series 2 reverse camera

Lot of money. You'd be far better off getting a camera from somewhere like Aliexpress for under $50.00 and fit that to your existing chrome strip. It's not difficult and some are also adjustable. I fitted one of these and reversed the end caps so the grub screws that locked the camera movement...

    excess noise notice

Don't know about council noise levels in Aus, but here in NZ, most councils have different noise levels depending on the time of day. For example, between 11pm and 6am weekdays the allowable noise level is a lot lower that during the rest of the day. Sundays and public holidays are also different.

    Clockspring replacement

If you've been having steering wheel control issues and now an airbag fault, it is quite possibly the clock spring at fault. They're not a problem to replace so long as you're careful. You need to make sure any replacement one is aligned properly before installation otherwise you'll rip it apart...

Sound when idling for a few minutes.

You don't get him to test anything. If you have to tell him how to do his job then you took it to the wrong guy regardless of whether he's nice or not. I'm with Sean880. It is more than likely a problem caused by an issue with the tune.

Front and rear A119 GPS dash cam install in a VE Calais V

Good job. They're quite neat little cameras and bit more unobtrusive than mine. Do you mind detailing the model and where you sourced them? Thanks.

    I need help! Stereo Problems!!

Be very careful with removal of the clockspring. It is best to tape it to prevent movement when you remove it to re-seat the connections.

Ve gts ls2 reving up and down on start up trying to find idle

Revving up and down on startup is usually an indication that you have a crook sensor somewhere that isn't feeding the correct information through to the ECU which is expecting a set number of parameters operating within an expected set of values. They can be a real sod to find if you don't have...

    I need help! Stereo Problems!!

If the fault is related to the steering wheel movement you may find there is a fault with the clock spring. This enables the electrical connectivity between the turning steering wheel and the stationary steering column wiring loom. I would try re-seating all of the electrical connections to the...

Heater Fan Speed at Full. Won't Shut Off.

Thanks very much for the quick responses. I've just done the battery disconnect and that has brought it right. It's the first time it's done it in the 18 months that I've had the car. Will monitor it and if it occurs again I'll go and have a bleat at the local dealer and see what they have to say.

Heater Fan Speed at Full. Won't Shut Off.

Have had a good search through the forum but can't find anything specific to this problem. Jumped in the car this morning and started it. I think I turned on the aircon as it was quite humid and the heater fan speed took off like a rocket. Now it stays at full speed all the time. If I try to...

    Removing trim to access tweeters

I've removed the drivers side trim several times and never touched the centre piece. The clips go in at roughly the same angle as the windscreen so you'd be pulling it out on that angle. Removing the A-pillar trim can help so you can get your fingers under at the side. Also a set of those...

    Holden Commodore Rim Repair

To be honest, I wouldn't waste my time. There are plenty of good sets of wheels available second-hand that you could pick up for a reasonable price. You'll probably spend more hours on it than a second-hand set would be worth. You might even get the price of a cup of coffee back by scrapping the...

    VE parking Sensor Sounds

If it's a sedan, there's a speaker underneath the rear parcel tray. This connects to the sensor module which is also located underneath the parcel tray. That's where mine is located on my S2.

    Never had a problem....till now!

It's not isolated to the Commodore or even Holden. It happens to all cars with plastic tanks on the radiators. It happened to my previous car which was a WRX. With constant heating and cooling the plastic eventually breaks down. It's not a big drama. Messy, yes and irritating, but that's life...

Aftermarket headlight fitment and front bumper sag

The series 2 GM ones can be adjusted. The bottom mounts on either side can be screwed in and out. Can you do that with the series 1? Note that the bumper has to be off to allow access to the bottom mounts.

    Squeaky Seat in SV6

Be interested to hear if it's the same fix. In case the Holmart one becomes unavailable, the GM part number for this is 92256532 and it's called 'Service Kit Recliner'.

    Squeaky Seat in SV6

Went on a mission this weekend and I've finally fixed mine. it's sooooo good now. Series II Head unit removal?

If yours is a sedan I would have thought all the connections you require would be in the boot already. Mine were. I didn't have to do anything at the IQ end except have the camera function enabled.

    Squeaky Seat in SV6

Mine is exactly the same and it's driving me up the wall. It's especially bad as I live on a hill up a windy road and the damn thing creaks every time I go round a corner and it seems to be getting worse. My seat is at about the midway point for height. I've had the seat out and looked over all...

    Steering wheel centre/airbag.

Not sure what you mean by 'radio code'. Mine lost date and time but all my presets for the radio stations and bass/treble etc were retained. Just powered everything up and all is well. Just as an aside, reading 2 different sets of instructions pointed me to different airbag fuses. One in the...

    Steering wheel centre/airbag.

You don't need to turn the car on to turn the steering wheel. With the battery disconnected you only need to have the key in the ignition and turned to disengage the steering wheel lock. You need a bit of effort but it's not a problem. I'm swapping out my steering wheel as I type. Just waiting...

    VE steering wheel help

Been having a look at this and just from comparing images of the various steering wheels available it looks like the VE SV6 plastic silver trims wouldn't fit the HSV wheel so you would have to find some of these as well. The bottom of the steering wheels looks to be much shorter. Would this be...

Changing rear light bulbs major op?

I think you need to stop talking to your 'bloke'. ;) Assuming it's a sedan it'll take you about 10 mins. Most of that is just removing the clips and plugs that hold the boot lining in place which will expose the rear of the light fitting and away you go.

    sv6 brake upgrade

Just a question or 2 regarding the rear calipers. There is plenty of info regarding the front calipers in this thread but not much on the rears. Is the rear caliper setup in the SV6 different to the SS? If so are the calipers the same and you just require the mounting brackets again to upgrade...

CHangeing head unit colour (series 2)

Dealers can do it using their Tech 2 Web software. I was asked if I wanted to change the colour and logo when I had the reversing camera input enabled. You just need a dealer who understands the term 'customer service'.
