    Brake Pedal Response

I hope someone can offer me some advice with this problem, I have been searching around the forums without luck. The brake pedal sensitivity (you could call it) on my VZ executive has always seemed to move too far before engaging, in comparison with other cars its very annoying and now seems...

    Clunk when shifting 2-3

Also have the same problem, 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 2nd with the 4 speed auto. I explored this earlier but never came across this thread, I resigned myself that the gearbox was shitty and it’s a common fault that cannot be fixed short of rebuilding/replace the gearbox. You guys think a computer...

Advice Needed Please with Power Window Problem

yep, make sure you have 8 screws out before you start trying to pull it off, one is hidden behind the inside door release handle and one is hidden behind the lock popup thingy

Advice Needed Please with Power Window Problem

Could be the runners need a bit of lube, a dry silicon spray is good for that. After just having my apart I saw how it all works, there's some silders that the regulator mechanism uses, make sure they've got a good bit of grease in them there's 3 all up. 1 is hidden behind the door frame but...

Advice Needed Please with Power Window Problem

I discovered it was the power window switches board in the center console, i removed it then pulled it apart and saw that one of the pins on the PCB had no solder on it. It had the tiniest dab on it from manufacture, no wonder the circuit broke. I resoldered properly and it works fine now. At...

Advice Needed Please with Power Window Problem

I bought a whole new power window regulator today, cost me $187 only to find out that's not what the problem is, hopefully conventries will let me return the part even tho it's been opened. So I’ve changed the relays, removed the old electric motor and mechanism arms(damaged my window tinting...

Advice Needed Please with Power Window Problem

If someone could offer me some advice on this problem please. I'd like to know how you go about replacing the power window motor in a VZ, below is a description of my problem and what happened. I suspect it's the electric motor. All of a sudden without warning my passenger side window stopped...

VE SS Rims on a VZ?

I would strongly advise against filing them yourself, the center hub has to be PERFECT in shape and diameter or the wheel will not sit properly giving you balancing and support problems. This is normally done by a lathe of some sort that is adjustable down to .5mm as the hole needs to be .5...

    Battery in key

By time the battery gets flat the buttons are all worn on the remote :-/ But i have seen buttons for sale on ebay. Also if you're ever changing the key part due to the old one getting broken, apparently you got 10 seconds to swap them over the remote is rendered useless and needs to be...

    VZ transmission / diff issues

I'm also suffering from VZ driveline clunking, basically short of buying a new gearbox and rebuilt diff you're stuck with it. After taking it to a diff specialist he suggested flushing out the gearbox oil and putting in a high quality full synthetic oil so it copes better at high temps, i'll...

    noisy interior blower fan

I bought mine from Amcap in Welshpool. They basically have the same prices as Conventrys (possibly cheaper)but have EVERYTHING in stock and i recommend going there, they're a massive logistics company. $50 is correct, what has more than likely happened VN_Bucket is you've asked for a blower...

VZ Diff Clunk, advice needed please

I've got the car booked in for tuesday to have the diff dropped and cover taken off, anyone else had this problem rectified from a diff rebuild? I'm still not convinced it's the diff and not the trans as it seems to only consistantly clunk when it shifts from 2nd to 3rd. That sounds like...

VZ Diff Clunk, advice needed please

Rebuild of the diff or transmission? I'm worried I'll get the diff pulled apart and rebuilt only to find the clunk is still there with the problem in the trans :-/ Because the car does always clunk shifting from 2nd to 3rd under light acceleration, but rarely 1st to 2nd. Had it thudding over and...

    VZ Exhaust

If you want the 2.5" go for it :P But keep in mind you're doing twin, so it's only 3 cyl per 2.5" pipe, that's a 1.8ltr engine with a 2.5" fitted.

VZ Diff Clunk, advice needed please

Hey guys I did raise this in another thread before but after changing nearly every bushing I can under the car I know the thud/clunk must be coming from the transmission or differential. After reading old posts on the problem there wasn't any follow up them if the problem was resolved or how...

    2 hole and k&n

After doing mine I wish i had've just gone with a holden otr, i think it would perform better too with the air not having to travel around bends.

    VZ Exhaust

Going too big you lose back pressure and lose bottom end torque, makes the car doughy and will also use more fuel because you're putting your foot down more to get the car to go. A larger exhaust will only help at very high rpms because it'll let it breath better when trying to dump the exhaust...

VE SS Rims on a VZ?

Ouch, that's what im worried about with the 18's, i dont want any rubbing at all when turning or going over bumps. Car is on Kings lows now, that with the 245 tyres and 18x8 rims i hope i dont get any issues, if so i'll have to raise the car back up on factory springs.

VE SS Rims on a VZ?

Yep sorting all that out now, there's a place that does the machining ive found, overpriced in my opinion though at $45 per wheel plus GST so $50 ea $200 for 4.

    Removing console panels

Sounds like a common weak point on these, btw the boot cover isn't real leather :P Getting to it is easy, I looked at ASR's audio section on the forums here and found a link to a guide for doing the interior lighting mod, had a couple pics showing how to remove the center console. There's also a...

VE SS Rims on a VZ?

I should have mentioned I assumed the profile of the tyre is what maintains the rolling diameter of the wheel to be right. I know 18" is bigger than 15" :) But yeah in saying that the overall diameter of the SS wheels with tyres is significantly larger than a standard wheel. I'm going to see...

VE SS Rims on a VZ?

Hello I assumed after reading other posts VE wheels can be fitted to older model commodores after machining, in my case a VZ. So I picked up a set of second hand VE SS wheels and brought them home. After holding one up alongside to my car to my dismay I found that the things are much larger in...

Opinions on these 2 TOYO tyres?

Yeah the person i spoke to said the TOYO's are very quiet due to the silica compound, also meant to help them wear longer whilst offering performance. News update, i'm looking at getting a set of VE SS wheels 18", they should fit on a VZ no problems after machining?

Opinions on these 2 TOYO tyres?

Anyone had experience with either of the following tyres? I'm looking at getting a set of TOYO's 235/45/17's, choices are between Proxes T1R or Proxes 4 Obviously the T1R's are the higher performance tyre but I don't want something that'll wear too fast.

pleaseeeeee .. how to fix intake OTR ??

Even if the MAF isn't plugged in or not working the car should still start and run, it'll just give you an error beep and run rich? I believe. If it's not starting at all with the OTR then there has to be something else you've missed, something disconnected or blocked intake somewhere.

    Removing console panels

I just did my shifter boot cover, put a new one in. I found that 2 of the little plastic protruding clips were broken off so the rear of the boot cover didnt have anything holding it in place. I had to super glue that part of it down to the plastic or it would pull out exposing a gap when...

Advice needed for finding used holden 17"s

I'm trying to locate a good set of second hand SV6 or SS 17" wheels from a VY/VZ, i've been checking ebay and gumtree without much luck. I'm in perth so my options are limited as to what trading paper i can look through. The trading section in these forums are primarily eastern states. Can...

    Battle of the CAI

$300 :hmmm: Genuine MCAI cost me $14 brand new from AMCAP(parts distributor in perth), 75mm off cut pvc pipe from bunnings about $3 Most expensive part was the K&N filter, waste of time doing the CAI mod unless you get a better flowing filter to go with it. The thing that annoyed me was...

    SV6 has lost power

Still learning about the VZ's but the car possibly has gone into a limp mode due to a fault being reported? Also there's 2 tune maps the car can switch between, if it's detected too many knocks/pings/detonation in the cylinders then it might be running on the "detuned" map. Problem with a VCM...

    Alloytec Oil

wikky I never stated you "must" warm your car up, it was just a suggestion. Yes though letting your car idle for a minute after a cold start is still better for the engine rather than just taking off like most do. Personally I don't do that but i still take it easy until the oil warms up. To...

    Alloytec Oil

Fair enough if you like magnatech by all means keep using it. But it's been said over many forums for all types of cars, (as andyman said) it builds up a black sludge. To me that sounds like the additives in the oil that makes it "bond" as their description states. I'll personally be avoiding it :)
