    Using cooland - thermostat probs?

change the radiator cap to a 135 and see how it goes. everything else you said sounds normal, the thermostat should open at about 91 or 92, and stay at or just below that during normal driving, however, when you are in stop start traffic or idling for longer periods then the temp will...

    How hot is your vt????

In my opinion if your temperature dial goes up at all, even for a second, then there is something wrong with your cooling system. A hot day should not affect it at all, normal operation temp should be 85 to 95 degrees, then when idling it may reach 104 before the fan kicks in and brings it...

    How hot is your vt????

When you changed the coolant did you bleed the system of air? You can think the cooling system is full, but boy it can sure hold alot of air in there, you may even need to do it a few times to make sure it is all out.

    Heater Tap Question

if the tap is not shutting properly, would that be more likely be a tap problem or vacuum problem? Im thinking ill just bybass the heater tap and force the coolant from the engine back into the engine and see if that works, only problem is i still have the old type spring type clamps and i...

VT Climate Control only works on high??

Hi, its a common problem you have there. I currently have it myself. Its the fan speed amplifier (resistor) that is faulty. Its about a $100 part from holden, problem is, they dont have any in Australia and dont expect and new stock till mid December. You can try your local wreckers...

    Clunking noise

farked bushes will only make noise when low speed cornering so i doubt very much it would be that, it would have to be something loose somewhere just to be heard when idling Jack up the car and check the area you think its coming from first.

    "think" i have a heating problem,please help

first of all you need to find the reason why your radiator was empty, there must be a leak somewhere. coolant can leak from lots of different places, radiator, hoses, water pump, head gasket, heater hoses. i dont have much experience with commodore water pumps, but a water pump i had on...

How do I remove my lower control arm? or pivot bush.

Maybe im thinking of the wrong bushes you are trying to replace, but isnt it the ones where you have to jack up the car and then place jack stands under the control arm so the suspension is taking the weight (like when the tyre is on), other wise those bushes and rod dont move one bit. iv...

    Coolant change with climate control

Hi everyone, about to do a coolant change to my VT Berlina, when it comes to having the heater controls set to hot when doing it, how does this relate with the climate control? Im assuming you just have it set to maximum heat before shutting off the engine, but i thought i would...

    VT Berlina fan speed amplifier

Hi banga, they are behind the glovebox on the right hand side, simply unclip the electrical connection and undo by 2 screws, the ones on the berlina have a white face, and i think the standard air cons have a black face.

    Weird noise on vt

Sounds like bushes to me too, probably the ones connecting the strut bar to the control arms, a quick inspection with the tyre's off will confirm either way. I just replaced mine, $55 replacement kit from Repco, they now come with bends in the rod and different shaped bushes
