Instrument cluster Turning off and on Checked Everything

Try turning your park lights on after you start the car and see if it rights itself.

    Vy commodore ecotec question

I once had the same problem. Did you use 10W30 grade oil? It flows quicker and eliminates that initial cold start tapping.

    2004 series 2 vy berlina

The connections have to be really tight and might need to be disconnected and adjusted tighter with a pair of pliers before reconnecting. Also have a close look at the fine wire filaments inside the bulb. Sometimes they're broken but still touch together enough to make them work intermittently...

    Brake fluid reservoir cap leaking

Try washing the rubber cap seal in metholated spirits and drying it thoroughly before refitting it. I've found if there is brake fluid on the seal it slips out of position when tightened.

Vibrating only in 5th geat at 100ks, but no other gear

Could be something basic like a slight misfire causing it...a coil breaking down when under load or corrosion on/or loose plug lead.

Coolant mixed with oil in radiator

The brown stuff around the radiator cap could be the residue from the three tablets Holden recommended adding to the radiator coolant. Rumour has it they consist of compressed ground up walnut shell and are precautionary to sealed up any minor leaks that might occur.

VT V6 Starts every few hours then no spark

10% chance its a dud CAS. 90% its the wiring loom connection where it bolts to the bottom of the DFI. If someone's ever wiggled it a bit when disconnecting that's where the problem will be. Tighten those connections with a fine pick or probe.... even if you reckon they look tight.

Thoughts on a mini ultrasonic fuel injector cleaner (Autool CT-100)

Looks to me like a cheap ultrasonic cleaner dressed up with a pulse power source to cycle the injector. A couple of things to be wary of. Not all ultrasonic cleaners are equal. The good ones have circuitry to send variable sound waves of the right levels to drive dirt and grease from the surface...

VT INTERMITTANT IDLE DROP DOING MY HEAD IN

With the drop in revs happening about 10 minutes after starting it might be something related to the oxygen sensors activating as the car's computer goes from open to closed loop mode, trying to bring the fuel to air ratio back to where it should be. Are all the engine's vacuum hoses connected...

VT Auto problem shuddering / power button

If the light has come on it will have thrown a diagnostic trouble code that can be read. That's the best place to start. Don't go replacing parts or transmissions just yet.

VT commodore only starting after multiple attempts

How long has it been since it had a full service? The old girls love a bit of pampering. (plugs, leads, air, fuel filters and throttle body clean) If she's right in that department I'd check for any leaks/splits in the engines vacuum hoses and air intake hose.

Sounds like the vehicle has gone into limp home mode. Have you had a 'check engine ' light illuminate?

    Chevrolet (Holden) PPV on television.

Saw a glimpse of one on a national news item one night about a shooting over in the USA. Remember seeing the car...can't remember what the shooting was about. That's a bit sad isn't it?

I'd choose the Century battery because it is Australian made.

Rattle in the steering wheel boss

A rattle in mine was found in the steering wheel height and reach adjustment mechanism. A counterbalance spring was slightly touching. It went away after changing the adjustment by moving the steering up or down slightly.

    Shaky idle issue [RESOLVED]

The OP mentioned his radiator has recently blown. A build up of gunge in the cooling system, if it wasn't well maintained, might coat and affect the readings from the temperature sensor. The air temperature sensor might be worth checking as well and its connections.

    Shaky idle issue [RESOLVED]

Don't think it should take a few minutes to drop to normal idle speed, more like seconds and 1100rpm seems high. Perhaps the coolant temperature sensor is reading out of range?

VF Ute No Grab Handle ?

Maybe something to do with the curtain airbags fitted where the handle would go? VF misses out on the lockable glove box that the earlier models had.

    No spark in my vt

I had the same issue with my VY. It was a loose connection in the wiring loom connection where it bolts to the base of the DFI module. Fixed it by tightening all the connections on the female side with a needle like pointer. Finicky job but solved the problem in my case.

    Got me scratching my haed

Why would you want to lubricate the gaskets with dishwashing liquid? That would probably cause them to squish out of position as you torqued them down.

    GM selling Opel to PSA?

If that goes through that's the end of the Commodore here. I can only imagine the panic that might be happening in Holden headquarters right now. Head office in the US you wouldn't put in charge of a chook raffle. Don't their departments consult with each other?

VY Feels Like It's Choking and Shaky on Start

About the only thing you haven't done is replace the coils. They have to be in good condition, especially when you're running gas. They'll cause misfires when the engine is under load and play up when they get hot too.

VY Feels Like It's Choking and Shaky on Start

Start with the easy stuff first... Did you fit the right plugs for the LPG V6? they're a different gap to standard. Oops...see you've checked that.

2015 VF SV6 LACK OF POWER (FLAT SPOT)

Don't understand what you mean by that. Can you clarify? When you drop your car off to the workshop they will (or should) do a full service on it. Once that's done they've got a baseline to work from and can rule out service items as a cause. They should clean the air flow meter, check all...

    Ongoing Issues with VFII SV6

Hope you get a Holden tech who knows his stuff. Does sound like a loose wiring loom connection or pin, earth or broken wire somewhere on the car (losing connection as the engine bay heats up maybe?) They hate chasing those sort intermittent problems. An aftermarket accessory incorrectly fitted...

2015 VF SV6 LACK OF POWER (FLAT SPOT)

Your symptoms could be a faulty throttle position sensor. The TPS tells the brains in the car if the throttle is at idle, wide open throttle and any position in between. And it also tells the rate of acceleration. That determines the enrichment of the fuel mixture (just like the accelerator pump...

VR Senator LCD gone out on ODO?

The LCD panel might be okay. When sections of the display go out like that, it usually means some of the series of contacts on the LCD panel aren't making connection properly. Possibly a clip or screw at the back that holds the instrument assembly together has let go.
