    Ls1 gas troubles

That sounds about right. I guess they just did a bit more fine tuning the second time round.

    Ls1 gas troubles

Great point. I can't believe I forgot that. I'd assume it might need a retune if the converter had been replaced. My system was fine once it was first installed, but after a month or so it needed a retune to smooth it out. Don't ask me why. We also managed to score a couple extra kws.

    Ls1 gas troubles

Since you have replaced a lot of components I would suggest getting an expert to look over it and adjust the tune. Might be the easiest at this point. And they should be able to diagnose it fairly quickly. Not sure who is around your area, but I had a sprint LPG system installed and tuned...

    Ls1 gas troubles

I might be able to help, I used to have an LS1 on LPG. And a few other LPG cars. Could be a few things. LPG is super sensitive so it could be perfect on petrol but run like a dog on gas. First I assume it is a Vapour injection system, or Liquid injection system as I don't think it was even...

Are VF SV6/SS suede seats easy to keep clean?

As above special cleaners from Car care products is prob the best bet for quality. I personally like to use Einzett Blitz (diluted) on all fabric including microsuede/Alcantara, it cleans even the worst fabrics and removes any grease/nicotine or any other nasty things. That and a little leather...

    Refurbishing more modern vehicles.

Pretty sure you can get old plastic parts chrome plated, as long as they are ABS plastic, no different from 60's 70's cars. ABS can be glued and refinished, and Polypropylene can be plastic welded and painted (add in some Matte to the vinyl paint) and printed with the matching vinyl/plastic...

    Locked out and deadlocked overnight.

I'd start with the alternator and work back from it, wouldn't be a hard job for an auto elec. BTW If you do need to drive it somewhere for a short trip, just start it up then disconnect the battery ASAP. But don't hold me responsible for any other voltage related damage that could potentially...

So found a solution for the DVD screens and the headphone issue, got a bunch of connectors together and tapped them all up with electrical tape! But they work so that's good. I did start giving the paint a bit of a cut a week ago, the rear and passenger side are looking a lot better...

    Recommended SEQLD Mechanic

Try Matt at Racing Evolution, Hall st Yamanto. Fixed the rear main seal, and other seals, Manual conversion and Extractors fitted for a great price on my old VX wagon. Always does a great job, and does what you want. Not sure on the Blower but they do a fair bit of fabrication work for track...

    Vt wagon

How is the fuel level? if its low then try putting around 20L in. My VX wagon had a semi faulty fuel gauge and also wouldn't start once it ran out unless you put in a heap of fuel. But could also be something else, crank angle sensor maybe, did it have a check engine light illuminated? Check...

Key stuck in ignition and won't turn to "on" position

Don't think it would be an airbag issue, more of a coincidence then anything. Lock barrel is my guess. But get the airbag reset anyway, after you have checked all plugs are plugged in, it's most likely a loose wire (plug) on the seats.

    S.O.S!

Look into getting a few quotes to get it fixed but also look at the price for another car, it might be better to get a new car and sell this one off for whatever someone will pay.

    S.O.S!

Prob over 5 grand. So here's an idea, buy another VZ with a stuffed engine/gearbox/or something wrong for dirt cheap (or VY, VX, whatever) and combined with the good parts from your VZ you can build your own new car for probably a lot less then getting it fixed (and also sell off extra parts...

    Wish List

I can see your point. When I was trying to research my previous Aus delivered impala I found out that Holden allegedly destroyed all the records they had relating to them because GM told them to. I wouldn't be surprised if that did that again. However these days they do know that the Commodore...

    How to fix yellowing headlights

Not bad, similar to what I do. But I do have to say that a Lambswool pad CAN burn the lenses if you leave it on a spot slightly too long, learnt that years ago on a practise headlight. Depending on how bad they are, I go with wet and dry paper, anyway from 800g to 120g on the most horrible...

So I realised last week on my first outing that the front aux input is absolutely horrendous! I first thought the stereo was crap but after putting in some CDs I realised the Aux was to blame. Vt ss Ls1 won’t start.. INITIAL PROB SOLVED ... starts then dies (Toyota Corolla conversion)

So your key is still good then. With my old VX LS1 we swapped over a PCM that wasn't suited to it and it would just crank and not start. Not 100% sure on yours since you say it stops cranking by itself, and you have the entire BCM and body wiring loom installed.

Yep, if key isn't matched, or damaged it would act the same. You also have the key reader and metal ring that goes around ignition right?

Vt ss Ls1 won’t start.. INITIAL PROB SOLVED ... starts then dies (Toyota Corolla conversion)

From memory security light should not be flashing while cranking. When you turn the key to on it should turn off and stay off.

Vt ss Ls1 won’t start.. INITIAL PROB SOLVED ... starts then dies (Toyota Corolla conversion)

The security light is most likely your problem. It's still on. When you say the complete wiring setup, do you have the BCM, Body Control Module as well? The key needs to match the BCM and PCM in order to work. As Lex said you can disable VATS in the PCM, which is just part of an ECU tune...

Wtf is going on how to fix

Looks like the white plug is for the factory stereo so no it wont work. Each manufacturers Head unit has there own specific plugs so they won't work with any other head units. Ok, going with an obvious one here so don't shoot me but are you sure the security been disabled on the ECU and its not a security issue causing it not to start? Or if you've got the whole thing is the ECU matched up properly (ECU, BCM, Keyhead?)

    Has anyone used these mufflers?

Haven't used those muffler, but I've had Redback mufflers before, not on a VE but they sounded good. Also FWIW my single 3 inch Hurricane Catback on my LS1 sounded nice as well, very smooth and deep.

    Boot Struts (VX)

Nope. Would need a motor to lift it a bit first. Stronger struts would lift it quicker and might take you head off though. On second thought I had a pulsar that would lift like that so maybe i'm wrong.

VY2 Berlina Wagon - H11 Low beam is a POS! :( Better bulb advice PSE?

Just to clarify the LED Conversion could most likely fit in the low beam spots in the Commodore, I actually bought the LEDs for the low beams in the Audi, it just turned out that I couldn't get them in because they were 2mm too big in diameter and I didn't feel like cutting a bigger hole. I...

Improving VF SV6 sound without being ridiculous

They just sound a little obnoxious with straight pipes, any muffler will smooth them out a bit and give them a nicer note, even if they are straight through small diameter mufflers. Straight pipes sound good at idle but thats about it.

Ok for the headlights, I bought a pair of these LEDs for my old Audi A4, put them in the high beam spot and they are amazing! Super white light, long throw and NO MODS to the casing, ie reversible if you need. I know it's more then you were wanting to spend but have a look at them anyway...

Ok, one thing I learn't early on is sometimes you need to cut your losses to avoid going backwards. Some cars will be absolute money pits where you spend hundreds every month in order to keep it running. You could use this money instead to purchase/pay off a newer/better condition car which...
