I agree, they could have caused something to fail or wear.

Lowered? Manifold spacers? Enclosed pod filter? <dunno if pod is ok for warranty. But remember, if something busts, they will blame your seat covers to get out of paying if they have to.

    Intake Manifold Gasket Problem

If the car is at running temp, it shouldn't steam. You could just put some glass in the smoke and see if it fogs.

Vz- fuel line keeps blowing off!?!?

Proper job would be to buy some hose clamps. Cable ties won't give much pressure

Retune bud, stock will have a different power curve and torque, and you would have to refit the maf. Don't ruin a good car by being cheap.

vz sv6 missfires in 5th gear.

Very strange. Are you sure its a missfire? I'd even consider removing the rear resi or something to hear the miss.

    Bit of smoke out exhaust

I guarantee it would have been clean as it rained the last time it started, and I won't deny it, I'm a super hoon in the wet. And I give it some every drive. But now I know it shouldn't smoke, I can start my quest of diagnosis, thanks boys.

    Which is better?

Personally, I believe waiting at least 10 seconds before touching the throttle is good practise, the best would be to let it come off choke. I only like doing that so the bore is warm enough to keep fuel evaporated, however, if you don't use much throttle while warming up, there shouldn't be...

    Bit of smoke out exhaust

I'm an apprentice mechanic so I know the basics. It was unburnt fuel. And I was revving to 6000 on full throttle, what I'm asking is if other people have experienced some "black smoke" under the same circumstances. And by black smoke I don't mean can't see through it, I mean it was black in...

    Bit of smoke out exhaust

I was trying to make a vid of my exhaust not today, noticed its a bit smokey under full throttle at high revs. Just wondering if most alloytecs will have a bit of unburnt fuel, or im running too rich, or not burning properly. By the way, i have a bit of a miss at idle, and no load with revs, i...

Will 20's scrub & whats interchangable???

To cover it once again. I have Superlow king springs, guards not rolled, with 20" 245's allround. They dont scrub, but if you get a camper kit for the rear i believe they would, its only because of the negative camber that it doesnt hit. Get lowered shockies, i have monroe sports gt lowered, if...

The biggest difference will be your exhaust note, does a bit to fuel, but not enough for me to notice.

    Synthetic oils in LS1

Really you just want the bore hot enough so that fuel doesn't condense on the wall of the cylinder and wipe off the protective layer of oil. So if you let it idle for around 30 seconds and it should be fine. But even more importantly than having a hot motor is having less fuel entering the...

Check your old oil for sludge and stuff that shouldn't be there.

    Wheres my sound??

To start with, the intake will only roar under full throttle. And when people say it increases power, its because they have already done many mods, that will increase the flow rate through the intake, making a restriction at the air box. I bought a decent pod setup and it made no difference...

    Manifold insulator

let's all remember that while the insulators are a good support mod, removing a leaf from your intercooler will do more than the insulator will. No, I'm not bagging the insulator, I have one and think its great, I'm just saying that when you have forced induction it really doesn't matter. So...
  26. C

    Manifold insulator

No, it won't affect lag at all. When you consider how much area there is in an inter cooler, the tiny 12mm gap won't make any difference.

VZ SV6 Not starting at fuel station

I agree with pricey, get that code checked, it may tell you exactly what the problem is. But you should also shop around, you can be charged anything from $40 to $100.

vz sv6 cold air intake power increase?

if its fully enclosed its legal.
  30. C

    19" on rough dirt roads?

You can't compare lowered shocks to stock ones, there is a reason they are "harsh", if you have soft shocks the extra spring in lowered springs will overcome the shocks. That's the downside of lowering. If you get soft shocks on stiff springs, the suspension will bounce.

    timing chain covers

Whenever you are given a torque then a degree extra, take notice of the force you are applying, if for any reason it requires more torque than necessary to achieve the degree turn, you may snap the bolt.

    Fully Lowered

Your tyre shop is full of it, with rolled guards it will clear. Ive got 245's rear lowered, not rolled. I haven't scrubbed the Tyre, ever. I know 245's should scrub if you haven't rolled them, but i think my brand of tyre is a different shape or something, not a square edge, but if i got a...

    VZ Octane Table Help

And for the comment on how ethanol has much higher ron, ron equals flash point, not energy content. Ethanol has much less stored energy than petrol, therefore you use as much extra ethanol as you save in dollars. Plus ethanol absorbs water, this means if you have an old car with 10L of water in...

Can somebody tell me why my car is 2cm higher than it should be on super low springs?

if you get king spring super lows, it won't tuck, it will sit just above the tyre where you want it. Put in those, if it still sits too high, there is something Sus with your suspension.

    VZ Octane Table Help

I assumed everyone knew what better fuel did. You want to advance the fuel ignition timing when at high revs so that the pressure from fuel detonation is pushing in the piston shortly after top dead center. Low octane fuel has a lower flash point, the point where a substance spontaneously...
