Interesting no start issue - was the fuel pressure regulator stuck?

Yeah, thanks those are the codes. Likely needs a new O2 sensor but as for the vac leak, no clue, was hoping it was caused by the faulty reg but clearly not. Codes did come back together though at the exact same time but can't see how the two are linked.

Interesting no start issue - was the fuel pressure regulator stuck?

Update to this issue, so it looks like it was the reg after all... Car konked out a couple of times since I made the post and before I installed an eBay Aeromotive A1000 clone FPR. Once just off idle rounding the corner back to my place but restarted fine and again happened a separate time on...

Interesting no start issue - was the fuel pressure regulator stuck?

Yeah it's possible... Though I've decided to replace the FPR with an adjustable one and I'll post how my setup looks. That way I can rule out the FPR being bad and if the pump conks out I can upgrade it to a Walbro 255 as that's probably the most logical choice.

Interesting no start issue - was the fuel pressure regulator stuck?

G'day mates, So I've got an interesting one here... Had the ole VR playing up a bit lately. It all began last year a few months back with a stuffed fuel pump. Eventually fixed it and back on the road again. Few weeks back I decided to do a full brake flush since it was well overdue and one...

what did you do to your car today?

No, I had mine up on jack stands. Didn't have to resort to using the chair, lol.

What's the go with fuel pumps these days?

Cheers for the replies, yeah I think I'll go for a Delphi since it comes with the cork gasket as mentioned. I'll need to drop the tank too and redo all the breather hoses I've been putting off doing for yonks. Been unable to fill my tank to full I always smell petrol afterwards. It's not just...

What's the go with fuel pumps these days?

So it looks like the fuel pump's buggered in the VR... The brand name ones I've seen for sale like Bosch, Delphi are all made in China these days. Are these gonna last? Performance sites are all selling the USA Wahlbro 255's for not a lot more dosh but they're made for mods and mine is all stock.

How TO replace the blower fan motor VS

Yep, good post. I coupled it with this guide, https://forums.justcommodores.com.au/threads/replacing-the-fan-speed-resistor.7607/ And I fixed my worn out blower and the fan speed resistor for about $45 plus postage. I just wanted to add that if you pry down a bit on the upper black plastic you...

    Guess where this came from

Nah, that's all in the car inside the dash...this fell from underneath the car. Also, the plastic of the HVAC is all black shiny this has a bluish matte tint. Unless what you mean is it's from another car (maybe a road accident) and got stuck in under there when I drove past, then yep, it's...

    Guess where this came from

No, but I'm also leaning towards it being a foreign part that somehow got trapped under the car then fell off later...it's weird that it decided to fall off in my driveway though. The piece where the plastic looks broken off looks to be an old break so who knows how long this thing was stuck...

    Guess where this came from

I can see what you mean, it does kinda look like that part off of a hydraulic engine mount. And I know mine aren't in too great a shape. But I compared what a mount looks like and it's not quite the same, need to jack up the car again and check what's what with the mounts but I'm pretty sure...

    Guess where this came from

G'day all, Found this under my car a few days ago, it was found under the driver side of the car...had a look underneath and can't find where it came from. Most recent work the car had was a reco'd AC compressor that worked fine then had a hissy fit one day (screeching noise) and then it was...

Parasitic drain and weird relay issue

Yeah thanks for the tips mate, I'll see what the dealers round here want for new ones else I'll be raiding the local wreckers for sure. In my case the relay connector isn't melted but fuse 9 was (partly because there was a 15A fuse in where it should have been 25A) but I have read other threads...

Parasitic drain and weird relay issue

Son of a....$%$#H You're spot on both the Narva 5-pin and the new Bosch 4-pin have different pinouts. I feel like such an idiot now  Cheers guys for all your help.

Parasitic drain and weird relay issue

I reckon there is something wrong with the relay switching circuit rather than cheap quality relays. I recall the last time when the fuse melted I was swapping out relays to test and ended up with a second dead relay out of that blower socket (at the time I put it down to old age since they were...

Parasitic drain and weird relay issue

Yeah good point and they cost heaps too, I figured they're the first thing to go on a wrecker's car but I guess you proved otherwise...

Parasitic drain and weird relay issue

Well the Narva was from Repco it's a 5-pin 30A rating Made in EU. The new Bosch was from Auto One and it's a 4-pin 40A rating (they didn't have 30A ones except Narva brand and at the time I blamed the quality since Narva have repeatedly let me down in the past - with light bulbs not relays lol)...

Parasitic drain and weird relay issue

Alright so I figured out it's the relays themselves that cause the parasitic drain. I now have two of them one Narva, newly replaced during the melted fuse incident a few months back and a Bosch that's brand new as of yesterday. They've now both been in the blower relay socket and they both...

Parasitic drain and weird relay issue

Yeah that was the last thing I could think of....aand nope. Yanked out the fan switch control unit out of the car and still the relay engages and the drain is present. I'm stumped

Parasitic drain and weird relay issue

Ok well...no luck. Just got the multimeter going, tested with the fan resistor out of the car and yup the drain's still there 160mA and I can hear the blower relay click on as soon as the battery is hooked up.

Parasitic drain and weird relay issue

I have to test it tomorrow when I fix up my multimeter. Had another look at it just now, the mounting bolts only go thru the plastic moulding so the cage is likely to be isolated in this case *shrug* Edit: actually it's hard to be sure if the cage doesn't contact the metal vehicle body, like...

Parasitic drain and weird relay issue

Yeah I have the old style cage one, had a close look and one coil is pretty close but not actually touching the cage. Can clearly see a break in the middle size coil that accounts for speeds 1&2 not working (smallest coil wired in series with middle coil, so middle by itself is speed 1 and...

Parasitic drain and weird relay issue

Blower/fan same thing, yeah that's what I was gonna try but I need to get a new fuse for my multimeter tomorrow before I can test again. I already pulled the cowl off the windshield and yanked the fan resistor out lol

Parasitic drain and weird relay issue

Also, when the blower relay is unplugged the parasitic drain disappears. Initially I thought the relay was fried internally so I bought a new one, interestingly for a few seconds that relay was plugged in the drain was gone then "click" relay turns on by itself and drain is back (all while i was...

Parasitic drain and weird relay issue

Yeah of course, I have these diagrams you posted but none of it makes sense. For example, notice in the one I attached the blower relay is part of the climate control only circuit but it's used for the standard system for sure. This is what I drew up last time when the fuse melted (could be...

Parasitic drain and weird relay issue

Ok, thanks I wasn't sure if it was normal to have 12v at the relay. No it's standard AC only, not climate control.

Parasitic drain and weird relay issue

I hate electrical issues and this is doing my head in guys, please help me. So this issue started out months ago with my blower fan that stopped working all of a sudden. I traced it to a dud blower relay and blown/melted fuse 9 (some twit, probably me, stuck a 15A fuse in place of the 25A one)...

    Central locking receiver antenna location

Thanks guys for all your replies. I'll take all your info on board and report back once I've figured this one out. The last day or so it's been working just fine so it's a bit tricky.

    Central locking receiver antenna location

Interesting. So which plug is this? Was it for one of the actuators in a particular door or all doors? In my case though it works perfectly with the key every time (all doors locking properly). It's only the remote locking that's playing up and either working on all doors or not at all on any...
