you need to have the codes read, to see what the actual issue is and then go from there. You can get and elm327 and smartphone app for $20. They are a must have on new cars

I think its a good deal. Expect at them kms maintenance costs to be pretty regular. There dont seem to be alot of high kms sidi motors about due to there ages so its difficult to tell how they age when getting alot of kays on them.

battery disconnection will do bugger all. The software update is just a bandaide fix. Have heard that it doesnt keep the CEL off for long. Basically start saving for a chain replacement should that be the fault

I was under the impressing the 3.6 sidi has a traditional exhaust manifold (pipe per cylinder) and the 3.0 sidi only have one pipe for all 3 cylinders

I doubt it would give the same sound, it will probably give you some sound - but not the sv6 sound. I would imagine the sounds difference comes from the 3.6 having an exhaust manifold - and the 3.0 not having one.

I have a 3.0 sidi and say the motor is good, bu economy isnt as flash as ide expect. Around town I get 11-13/l and highway about 8.5-9.5/l. This is driven very gentley, basically the same as my WL v8 statesman got

if you have a scan tool I would be looking at your O2 data and fuel trims. An exhaust should effect that. Is it maybe your style of driving IE. new exhaust (louder) that maybe your putting your foot into it more?

I believe it cant be at operating tempertaure. trans can only be between 35-55 degreesC. This can be determined in engineering mode.

this is a completely uneducated guess, but I would imagine its not possible. I could imagine the VF is a far more hi tech car than the VE......but if possible, would love to see it.

I believe p0008 is one of the timing chain codes, did the dealer check your software version to see if the "fix" had been applied. Check around a few dealers for different advise been chains are pretty exy to replace
