Yeah definitely get an amplifier! It makes a hugeeeee difference. I thought the same, but I just a sub and had a very compact box made. Also made sure it's easily removed in case I have to drop the seats. My anps and under the front seats so its very tidy.

Thank you all so much! Turns out the grounding at the battery was causing my issue. Pulled them back through the car, cleaned some paint and screwed the grounds to the chassis. Problem solved! :)
