if the car still has the maf sensor check that the plugs on it are not bent. They are easy to bend and if not connected correctly will cause the car to run similar to how you describe.

you would have to swap the whole dash, which is possible but way too much wiring work and would be cheaper to sell the car and buy a vy lol.

realisticly almost any engine would be better than one thats spend most of its life idling or being revved off its tits so i wouldnt stress too much about too much.

Ill be doing it at home with help from a few friends so should be a good learning experience. We also converted it to manual at home so shouldnt be too difficult.

Front bar will fit. the side skirts have no effect on the front bar fitment. The SS front bar will sit lower than the SV8 bar so you would be best off eventually finding a set of SS side skirts so it all matches in.

In the vy-vz they are smd led's soldered to the dash cluster, you will need someone to desolder and resolder the new led's.

Either is pretty much the same these days, i always go mafless because of the otrcai i have but if you have an intake that supports the maf then its not a huge difference either way.

At the moment its tuned remotely with a EFI Live Autocal from OZtrack but im not happy with the current tune in it. I'm Leaning towards LSX Garage, i had a chat to brett there and hes very helpful, and he had done some great work on tuning my mates stock cammed vy ss.

Very nice calais you have there. My cammed car was also done by Oztrack and I will definitely be getting mine redone locally too as the car constantly stalls when at lights and in 1st gear, it always pulls timing out too while under load which is a bit concerning but nothing a proper dyno tune...

VY from memory don't ask for the code as long as the cd player is placed back into the car it came out of. So in your case will be fine, if you put it into a friends car it will then ask for the code.

at the moment my car has the stock cam, push rods, valve springs, harmonic balancer, two sets of roller rockers and a stock timing chain in the boot.. i should probably take them out now come to think of it.

depends what you do 4gb of ram maximum is kinda limiting, i would prefer the macbook pro if i was buying one.
