Took Dak's advice; Fibreglass on the back. ;And Fibreglass reinforced body filler on the front. All sanded back smooth.

I always filled mine till I was out :) Knew it was more than 4l.. Just tipped it in till the bottle was empty, the 200ml extra was spilt everywhere.. but thats because im a twat.

That information would be in your owners manual. Invest in a gregories workshop manual, has everything you need. Should hold somewhere around 4L from what I remember .. But it's just best to fill till it starts to come out.. At least then you know it's full.

That's very interesting, I would say your first impression is correct. Seeming how the BCM doesn't store a new code each time it's matched with a key, there's really no way the BCM would run out of memory like that, unless damaged. But hey .. I got no idea :)

Just been poking along.. Panel by panel. Getting it as perfect as I can.

My Calais has 312xxx and ha all the wear and tear. The engine was replaced by the guy I got her off, it's got about 150xxx on it. Transmission was original and was going strong. Service every 2500 km ( hard driving / dirt roads / dodgy fuel ) Leads, filters, plugs, oil etc.

Attempting Plastic welding, think I need to reinforce the back with fiberglass. Any Ideas?

To me that sounds like he is using the V6 Key and Key fob with the V8 BCM..

I thought that was obvious.. Clearly not.
