    jerking/jolting under deceleration!!!!!

Jeeze, you must've needed a deep sea submarine to trawl this bad boy back into existence :bomb:

    VN problems

all cars will do this, look at even a new car and it will look like this when cold. You need the catalytic converter to be hot for it to do it's job. while it's cold it's not 'converting' properly.

    Just a bit of fun...

+1 for the cable tie trick on the drive shaft. being FWD it will still work. or anywhere for that matter. Prawns/seafood slops in the exhaust pipe works a treat as well. Everytime the car gets hot it'll cook the slops and stink like an aweful mess.

VN Berlina V6 starts but cuts out and wont start back up for 1 hr

I second bwenny, i had the exact same problem, i replaced the C.A.S but it still didn't fix it, as soon as i changed the coil, no more problems. Both items could probably do with a change anyways :D

What fits in a Small Salisbury Housing?

awesome, guess it all comes down to the rim offset, if you can get a good offset, should be sweet

What fits in a Small Salisbury Housing?

there is a bit of controversy over the use of the VN assembly, it will fit, but only if you use small wheels, anything over 205 width will scrub like buggery apparantly. I've got little stock wheels with brand new tread which would pass pits easy as, but don't want to limit myself with wheel...

What fits in a Small Salisbury Housing?

cheers, i reckon finding banjo internals that are all still good might be harder than trying to find a VK/L complete housing etc. It's good to hear the different combos that are getting around, i've thought about the VN option also, but with a Borgy housing i can really do as i wish. (i did...

What fits in a Small Salisbury Housing?

Yes, I will be, going to put a 308 in front of it so i need something stronger than the little sals can provide. Thought if i can just replace the centre/axles i'll be laughing, but if not then i'll try and track down a VK or VL borgwarner disc to disc. Save me a few headaches i think...

What fits in a Small Salisbury Housing?

Hi all, I've been searching the forums/interwebz and have read the sh!t out of the diff info thread but can't seem to find the answer i'm wanting. :hmmm: I have a VH project car i'm working on, with a disc rear end and a small salisbury. I am pretty sure i have a fine spline axle. I'm...

Where can I find a good 202 VK engine

bottom of the ocean, commonly found with a chain attached and boat on the end :D You'll be hard pressed to find one that hasn't been reconditioned. Even then you would want to recon it if you do find a half decent one. Those air pumps never hung in there either, my VK one seized real quick.

read plz (10 dollar port and polish job)

ah pmsl laughing at this one, and yes the welded diff was a beauty, what happens when silly buggers get ahold of a big welder, welded everything, all the spider gears and the axles :D was on his 4wd i believe.

    VU II SS ute

hey mate, these cars are pretty much the same, as you said the trim is different and the lights, but for the most part the engines and running gear are all the same. You'll probably find the Vy's may have some less k's, but higher dollars. The Vu's can still be found with low k's and much...

Are VT VX VY gen3 gearboxes the same?

i think he's got a v8 mate, just thinking.... For the LS1 gearboxes, they should all bolt up the same, especially between the VT-VX, i'm not sure about the computer side of things though? these gearboxes are heavily controlled by the electrics. I'm sure someone here will have some insight

    VU SS Help

that's what i figured, i might post a pic... what's the sensor at the front right of the engine (if looking at it from the front) there's some creative wiring that has been done on that! i'm thinking if the wiring there is dodge it could be causing some probs

    VU SS Help

cheers, yeah i'll take it to the dealer that i got it from and get them to tell me... they should've fixed it anyways.

    VU SS Help

yeah i figured the flashing was just low pressure, after the low revs and then the steering pump going would reduce pressure, as for the light, i'm thinking it's something to do with that. or the computer has been chipped and not reset or something maybe?

    VU SS Help

Hi, Just purchase a VU SS, the engine light has been on ever since i've picked it up, how can i check what the light is on for? i believe in the newer models it's not as simple as bridging the line and counting the flashes... the other thing is the oil light and beep goes off every now...

    Twin Turbo VN 5sp

awesome, sounds like i'll probably be heading down the ss charged line!! my mate currently has an atlas grey ss that he is stripping down and putting on a charger, mine will probably get done sooner though lol
  31. gone_nutz13

    Twin Turbo VN 5sp

if i was getting the ss i would be stripping it down anyway and getting it rebuilt with hardened stuff anyway so that it is really crisp, and yeah a nice charger would be great. in another year i'll be working full time so my car won't get used much at all so waiting for work to be done will be...

    Twin Turbo VN 5sp

my thought's over the next 2 years is to keep my current vn v6 5sp, take the engine, gearbox, diff out, send it off to get stripped down, machined, hardened parts in and get a twin turbo setup happening, obviously i'd be looking at $15000 or so to get something like that and would obviously...

    Which Disc Pads to buy??

i use the ferodo pads aswell, they work great!! i just undid one caliper bolt, loosened the other and rotated the caliper out, then the old pads fall out, take your reservoir cap off and use a clamp to push the caliper piston in (might have to take some fluid out to stop it overflowing...

    NGK Iridium Spark Plugs

coil pack makes a small jolt turn into a big one, it's just a transformer that cranks up the voltage to give a big spark. bigger hotter spark and mixture explodes better giving more power. when it blows a hole its due to detonating i believe, it can happen but i don't think that it's very...

Warning For Removing Outside Door Trim!

that sucks!! easy does it with the touch up, if you want it to look good, sand it down, then apply some primer, then do a couple of very light coats to build it up to the colour, then it should come out alright
