    LS cam

It might be worth emailing a some camshaft manufacturers such as Crow Cams and Kelford Cams in NZ to start with. With any luck one of them might be the ones who ground it. You can try VCM too but IIRC their camshafts are manufactured in the US.

    VX automatic rear housing squeak.

Problem solved. I didn't beat the tailshaft well enough and it was 5mm too long when I was putting it back together, so my guess is the yoke was rubbing on something in the rear housing. Put it back together and it still whined until I gave it a boot up the street a few times. No more noise! I...

    VX automatic rear housing squeak.

I've tried spinning it with the yoke nearly all the way out of the transmission and it makes the same noise. I don't really want to take the yoke out and get covered in transmission fluid but it sounds like I might have to so I can check/replace the bush and seal. Heading to the wreckers now...

    VX automatic rear housing squeak.

Hi all, hope everybody is keeping busy over the long weekend! I replaced the tail shaft center bearing this arvo in my VX wagon (making sure everything went back in the same way, including the alignment of the splines to keep the balance in check). After I finished I took it for a test drive...

    Exhaust Technology Adelaide exhaust opinions

Looking at the auction listings they did have plenty of equipment to have the ability of fabricating custom systems.. My mate is gave ET his mock 3" dump pipes for his twin turbo E30 LS1 project, they told him they could mandrel bend them as one piece but they never got back to him, he lost the...

1.3L Daihatsu Charade- can't go wrong. Recently bought my second one to use as a daily while the SV8 is out of commission, it gets 6L/100km being absolutely thrashed everywhere, does skids, Handles like it's on rails, has air conditioning, no power steering (not needed in a 900kg car anyway)...

Sorry that you were involved in an accident, it always sucks to see good looking cars damaged :( Of all hire cars they could have given you, they gave you the absolute worst.

    Updated VCM Cam Selection Information?

Give them a call tomorrow, they can still get those camshafts listed in the videos but I would go with their modern grinds.

    aussieakito's '05 Stivo

I've just gone full circle as well, Mrs car was a G202 Charade and she ended up not liking it because it was a manual so I used it as a daily for 6 months. Sold that and made money on it a couple of years ago, now my SV8 is needing mechanical repairs I bought a G200 Charade (same body but with a...

    LED h4 bulb headlight

Cheap is not good. Good is not cheap. These bulbs weren't designed for factory Commodore headlights, they will be an eye sore just HID in reflector housings and the light output isn't so great either. Stick to halogen bulbs.

insurance for a modified car for driver 23 years old?

I thought they wouldn't insure me because of my age too, according to them they are insuring more younger drivers because of Just Car Insurance shutting down.

insurance for a modified car for driver 23 years old?

Shannons Insurance. I'm 23 with a V8 and similar modifications, they're the only one that would insure me for a good agreed value and good monthly charges.

    How old are you ?

I'm 23, that is grumpy like a 63 year old most days and when I shave I look like a 13 year old.

Shannons were the only insurance company that would happily insure me, for agreed value and a decent premium with me being younger than 25 years old, driving a high performance car.

    LED house lighting.

Since there has been a few replies now I may as well post an update. I've only replaced 50% of the house lights with OSRAM brand downlights and Edison bulbs, our billing is monthly and compared to the last month we've saved over $30. There has been no other changes around the house either.

87 Camira Engine and Drivetrain Swap - HELP NEEDED

My mate and I have discussed building a Camira before with a Holden 304 and T5 5 speed manual. He had a JE manual wagon so it could be a very easy job, as the VL was built in the same year and there is the possibility of the K Frame bolting in then just needing to fabricate some diff mounts for...

[VY] How to install Astra Electric Power Steering on a VY SS.

Have you had any problems with leaking seals on the stock power steering rack because you're not using Dex 3 fluid? My mate has just done a electric power steering conversion on his drift car with the same phmp as well and I'm contemplating doing it to my VY.

[General] [VY/VZ] Everything to know about Changing Clusters!

I can now confirm, series 2 VY cluster in a series 1 VY does work when programmed, but you do have to swap the fuel pump assembly to a series 2 VY unit which is easy enough to do. Check my build log if you want to see Tozzarae. https://forums.justcommodores.com.au/threads/my-2002-vy-sv8.262199/...

    LED house lighting.

So after getting pretty sick of expensive power bills I've put it down to the lights in the house being the problem for the high price every month. In total there are 26 50W MR16 down lights and 12 40W E27 R63 in our house, all being replaced with 7W LED lights. Without boring you with a math...

    Who here uses Photobucket?

I switched to Imgur a while back. I believe it was Imageshack that done something similar tng upload o what PB are currently doing, I lost many pictures from their greed. PB was turning into a headache trying to upload and it failing half the time.

Uniacidz Ride VX SS Monaro Themed

Not bad. The problem you'll find with LED's is that they're much brighter. For example the VY onwards have LED's for their clusters, I had my LCD LED's changed from green to red (because red goes faster) and the red ones are might brighter than the factory white ones behind the gauges. Any...

Another problem occurred, the battery was not charging- dead alternator. With some luck (I really don't know how I got so lucky) there was a 1984 E23 735i at the local wrecker and I took the alternator off and tried to fit it. what a PITA!!! I didn't realize they changed the alternator style...

    Nick's Long Term Project: 1981 BMW E23 733i.

The first issue to tackle was replacing the fuel pumps. These have a low pressure internal pump that feeds a high pressure external pump with a return system to the tank. It was a easy process and I made sure I done it once and done it correctly. They didn't have any black fuel hose in 1/2" ID...
