Yeah kms are right, had car it since new. I do remember in the day, cleaning plugs with files and glass paper , or getting them sandblasted at local garage, and gap them. Used to make a huge difference. Showing my age now. These days they last 100000kms. and no gaping. Car even tunes itself...

Just doing 120000 Book service on Ve commodore series 2, it says change spark plugs. Our car has only done 57000 , not even half. Am I right in not changing then at this stage, waiting to get a few more km's . Thanks

You will find that the oil tube has a bend and crimp in it that will not allow the tube of the oil extractor to get to bottom of pan. at least it did in mine (series 2 V6).

After original line up of the timing marks may, it take 20 or 30 or more revolutions for them to line up again, if they were set properly and no grinding or clicking then you are sweet. Also if aligning to second timing mark . they will already not all line up.

Had one since 2013, never had 1 issue. Thy run way better and cleaner on Premium 95.

Knowing Holden you will probably have to buy the whole glovebox, "pick a parts" or wreckers is the answer, take it off so you know what you want.

A tad alarmist I think. It all depends on how it has been serviced, I have heard of ve's going well over 350000 kms without serious issues. However I would see a automatic transmission specialist and get transmission fluid and filter change, in case it hasn't been done.( oops posted before me...

Long term fuel trim @ 20% is way too high, your car has been running lean for a while. Check put this video for an idea what is going on. It may save you money in diagnostics fees.

Can't agree more oil is cheap in the whole scheme of ownership , yep GF5. Oil should darken with use,but not after 500 kms though :( . In our old land cruisers, in the day, we used the old toilet roll filter( Franz) they worked great, just change dunny roll every could thousand kms, kept oil...

First change since I gave up on dealers, although I have always used Penrite and I am an old dude..lol. Changed every 7500Kms , even with dealers ie 9 monthly sometimes only 4-5000 kms. As long as it meets the minimum specs then I reckon it is sweet, if not then use AC Delco oil.

The cluncking noise is the ABS test, happens about that speed on start up. IQ has alot of issues when using USB key. If it is the centre switch contol, go to wreckers there will be heaps available. Easy to lift centre section to check connections with test light or multimeter. Video here:

using it right now, Oil seems to have stayed a lot cleaner for longer than the stuff dealer used. Also not so rattly on start up. All subjective I suppose

It never was this bad years ago, times have changed now, it is all about getting as much dough from you as they can prise away. Shame really as most of the mechanics are great and know their jobs.

There are clips around the edge . Lift up console lid and start lifting from this area. Be aware , go gently but firmly ( If you know what I mean) also undo the connections for the electric windows etc. Use a plastic Trim removal tool or such like . This gives a bit of a clue

Based on reports BP Ultimate 98 seems to have the best rep, it could be the extra cleaners in 98 are dislodging bits of muck and carbon in lines and heads causing issues. Try a tank or two of BP 98 and see how it goes. Don't go back to Holden or you will end up in other huge bill. As "greenacc"...
