**warning - testra scam alert **

Yeah, have just been yakking to IT this afternoon. They are playing around with the ironport, so things have been hit and miss the last day or so..

**warning - testra scam alert **

Yeah, well had one slip through this morning. Am sure they are looking at it and it was just a case of fine tuning to let the legit ones get through.... the exe did show up in outlook, but was not going to risk trying to open it anyway.

**warning - testra scam alert **

Has been a qantas one doing the rounds with an exe attached also. Bright sparks in IT at work decided to blacklist, but ended up blocking all the legit Qantas bookings people were making. DOH!

SA - Low level speeding fines drop - but double demerits

What you mean? You can dispute demerits in order to get your license back under certain circumstances..... Not easy but it happens.

SA - Low level speeding fines drop - but double demerits

It's a catch 22. Increasing fines just means more people won't pay them and the government has to chase the money and hand over to collection agencies. Money owing on fines is just going up and up anyway. Bump the demerits and it's almost instant pain and then up to you to argue to get them...

    Rego fees in your state

SA gets rorted on commercial rego for all utes also, regardless if for business use or not. The ute was just over $1k for 12 months. Sadly my new ride won't be much cheaper even thought its a sedan. And to the above; stickers have now been abolished in SA and WA..... Now more sticky windows :)

How to change the battery in the key remote?

Just a note here to the in-experienced. Batteries are not meant to be soldered. Due to their chemistry and construction they tend to heat up and explode when soldered, so any advice taken on a public forum should be countered with an "at your own risk" label. Batteries in production facilities...

    iPhone 4.2.1 Jailbreak Released

Pretty sure you can't jailbreak over jailbreak basically. You have to revert back to a clean firmware somewhere along the line.

    iPhone 4.2.1 Jailbreak Released

Yeah looks easy enough to jailbreak, except when you have un-jailbroken reverted back to stock and can't save any of the jailbreak customisations easily.... setting up each and every one is a PITA. Android is just a case of using titanium backup, hit restore after a new ROM is loaded and all...

    iPhone 4.2.1 Jailbreak Released

Lol, that's the trouble with iPhone. So much easier upgrading, rooting and restoring on Android :)

    iPhone 4.2.1 Jailbreak Released

Doesn't work with older 3G phones for those who are interested. For those you can use redsn0w which is untethered as well.

    iP OS4 on iP 3G

By fail I meant mutlitasking is actually "freeze an app" or just provide a shortcut to the most recently used apps. It doesn't actually allow apps running at the same time unless the developer has written it that way. Strangely my blackberry seems to handle the concept quite well :)
  22. vy_storm

    iP OS4 on iP 3G

Not too bad at all really. Alot of people have complained it is slow and laggy without a JB, but mine seems snappier than it was before. With the JB you can enable multitasking and background wallpapers as well, although Apples idea of multitasking is one big FAIL really.

    iP OS4 on iP 3G

It already is, I JB'd on iOS4 yesterday using redsn0w.
  24. vy_storm

    iP OS4 on iP 3G

I can't live without sbsettings on the jb. Without it there are too many menus to dig through to toggle stuff on/off. I had a jb on 3.1.2 but wasn't worth going to 3.1.3. There's a few things in iOS4 that were in previous jailbreaks, so it's good to see Apple take some of it in.

    iP OS4 on iP 3G

If you can't get it through itunes then its not out to the public release. Anything else floating around will be the developer version. Suggest you read up on whirlpool in the 4.0 firmware thread then.

    VY Air Con Smells

Nope, you're not imagining it. It's due to build up of moisture/bacteria in the vents. When it gets fully cold or hot the smell goes away, but will continue to build up when there is condensation and no air moving through. Have heard it referred to as "bum smell" but that's a bit harsh, lol. If...

    Holden Steady

From the spy shots doing the rounds its not going to be anything drastic, probably along the lines of like Ford did with the BA-BF. There is rumour of major revisions to the interior though.

There should be a section for Utes

Go join a ute forum then... this is just commodores and the forums are by evolution of model, not size or shape. That would mean there should be a section for wagons, monaros, statesmans, HSV's..... the list goes on. No thanks :)

    who's got a leatherman?

Have got three of the suckers and couldn't live without them. My current used one is a Surge. Others are a PSTII and Pulse. How to change the battery in the key remote?

The reason batteries are spot welded is because soldering tends to make them overheat and explode! Very hard to solder tabs or wires to a large heatsinking surface.
