    Corsair Air 540, yellow/black gamer

Yeah I never knew that was a thing, always thought you had to be fairly well established before you'd even get a look-in for sponsored parts. PCCG shared the build album from my page, then Corsair shared it twice in 24hrs and their regional manager contacted me over it. Surprised me to say the...

Grennan's pretty much spot on. i7 are more geared toward rendering / video editing / streamers / youtubers. Basic gaming you're more than fine with an i5 in the current market.

    Corsair Air 540, yellow/black gamer

i7 are still a waste of time in a 1080p gamer :) Better off spending the difference on cooling and turn up the clocks on an i5!

    Corsair Air 540, yellow/black gamer

Hey guys :) Not so much a build log as a few finished product pics to kick off with. This was my first shot at making a custom water loop, so I'm keen to hear people's ideas on what could have been done better, etc. I had free rein with this build. No preferences, just build a gamer however I...

Not sure how much I'm going to document on the forums from here on out. I may keep the updates going, but for now I've put together a Facebook page on the rebuild. www.facebook.com/ScarlettVN

OK so basically I have been SUPER lazy with this. Long story involving a shitty relationship breakdown but I am living on the barracks again now and finally in a good position to start working on this (the red car). I am also fighting this weird mental barrier I have where I feel like I can't do...

Little update to my main machine - moved from an AMD Piledriver combo to a 4820K. Bunch of random other systems I've built if anyone's bored and wants a look: www.facebook.com/OCDesktops

In short, no :) I'm collecting parts. Army has kept me quite busy this year so even if I'd wanted to work on it I wouldn't have got very far yet. Basically it's still getting the running gear from the white car, except swapping the engine out for a fresh rebuilt LS1 with a sneaky boost cam and...

    Sam's VN Lexxxcen LS1 T56

Which one? The white one I just washed it regularly and gave it a good polish once in a while. The red one is neat because it's a fresh paint job - VN_Luke took care of that :) Side note, things are still happening with this car although I have another ~18 months until I get my licence back...

You lost me at the "$100 tunes" comment, and I see I missed the party in here :) Update: The update is that there is no real update. I lost my license a while back for a healthy amount of time so I haven't really been bothered rushing into anything because there really isn't much point. I have...

haha, I'm glad this was dug up actually. I never did the cam swap and I'm considering getting stuck into it soon.

    Sam's VN Lexxxcen LS1 T56

Solid plan, except I live in Townsville and our nearest track is bloody miles away since the local drag strip shut down. Conveniently enough I live on the barracks I work at, so that at least isn't a problem for the moment.

VP V8 runs hot under load

The Senator? I don't know if it's fixed or not.. I came back to Townsville and the car's back with its owner in Perth. I'm sure it's base timing related though. Everything else is new and it's worse under light load... where timing advance and a lean mixture meet up for a high-temp party.

You're going to be waiting a while, better get started. Mis-counted my drinks one night and got done on a DUI 0.06, then got caught driving on a disqualified license when I tried a sneaky trip 5min to the servo and back a fortnight later. **** happens, I have nothing to hide, and as much as I...

    VR Senator with LSx454

Gary, your version of this is going to be VCM Suite, in line with our discussion on FB. ALDL will be largely pointless for an LS I'd think, since ours are OBD2 as someone has already mentioned. VCM Suite came with everything including the cable, and the ability to data log using just the...

Got a few issues going on at the moment, cars are on the back burner for a while. It will happen, but it looks like I have no license for anywhere up to a couple of years now so there is no rush. Been very busy with computer work also, pretty much taking up most of my spare time lately.

Black/orange gamer in a trick Nanoxia case

I've been a bit lazy with the build logs lately, skipped one or two of my builds completely. I'd like to claim I was "too busy", but in reality I'm just a naturally very lazy person :) Decided this one deserved a log though for a couple of reasons - one being there's not a lot of info on this...

Sure is. Sunny Townsville should have a sexy red VN doing the daily thing in a few months' time. :) Luke, thanks! I'm close to getting stuck into it. I like them in black :) once it's sitting at the proper height it will look tough. Re: conversion parts, I feel his pain. I'm keeping an eye out for some Pacemaker headers and Tuff mounts, will hopefully fit better than the CAE **** I currently have. I hope so! Wiring it will be the time...

    VR Senator with LSx454

I doubt it, just if you are picky with the up/down switch thing you may have to get creative with the wiring of it. Pretty sure 99% of people just let the head unit control up/down and leave it at that. Make sure you wire the signal wire to the correct output from the H/U, so it's only up when...
  33. savage1987

    VR Senator with LSx454

The power antenna you have isn't designed to work with your dashboard up/down switches. There may be a way to achieve this but it likely means bypassing (or at least re-wiring) the antenna's inbuilt relay etc. The aerial needs power to go up or down. The power feed needs to be constant 12V, not...

    Post your setup!

I don't game as much as I used to, and when I do it's only 1920x1080 at the moment. A single GTX770 will do me fine - any more is really a bit of a waste. If I move to a 2560 monitor at any point I'll look at pushing further, we'll see :)

Out with the old.... ... and in with the new! :) Also threw in some new sway links while I was at it, and a particular eye will spot the sneaky paint job on the outer caliper section, whatever that's called :) ... it makes Holden/HSV brakes look a lot bigger if you paint those.

    Post your setup!

haha, yeah I'm not real savvy on that either and I feel like maybe I should be.. I'll upgrade to whatever comes up at the right price. Been using GTX 770s lately and they are seriously nice pieces of hardware for the money, but a 780 would be nice :) I'm in no hurry so I'll just wait and see...

Not 100% sure what wiring is in it just yet - that's a future me problem! Most of it looks to be there though from what I can see around the centre console area. I don't have that much more to do than what I managed the first time through to be honest :) ... Literally everything in the white...

Pretty much full suspension and driveline to go in, yep. Wiring will be the tricky part but I'll get it sorted out. Same running gear as last time, but with a couple of things fixed up. On the lookout for Pacemaker headers and Tuff mounts to hopefully avoid the same header clearance issues. Also...
