[QLD] ADVENTRA 2005 CX6 Vz Engine Noise HELP PLEASE!

I can reply with regards to fuel, dad had a LX6 Adventra (V6) from new in 2006. Used around 14.5l/100km Upgraded in 2013 to a VF model Caprice with V8, and has since got low 12L/100km on the same cycle. EDIT: to keep it on topic, I would be thinking possible oil pump issue as you might be...

    Rory's 2006 Patrol

True, I really think that in the next 10-20 years, the GU will be THE 4wd to engine swap. A V8 wouldn't be too bad under the hood either, plus it would get it moving. How are your projects coming along mate? Still got the Patrol?

    Rory's 2006 Patrol

Usually I would agree, but Nissan decided that crimping the end tanks was a good idea, think of it like trying to seal the bottom half of a coke can by squashing the middle to flat, not very effective. The Patrol forum has a long history of people waiting much longer than quoted for big...

    Rory's 2006 Patrol

I have been looking into replacing the intercooler, but I was more looking at the cheepies off ebay with welded end tanks, the factory ones are crimped which means they leak. The Cross Country are an awesome but of kit though and bring down temps, but $1500 is a bit more than I want to pay...

Fixed the table because the crimps I had used didn't hold up to a Weber-Q plus me leaning on it to cut up stuff for dinner :( Luckily we had extra dinner and didn't brake anything. I'm now using 100lbs nylon coated stainless steel fishing line doubled up for the stays on the table. I also...

I'm guessing you have a car very VERY similar to PIR4TE's and happen to have very similar mods too? Just a hunch. ;)

    Windows 10

Office is the only thing that I would lose but I get it free from uni for now anyway. Maybe I will backup my entire SSD to my old HDD and then install W10 and then do a wipe and reinstall. That way I can always go back to W7 and all my program data if I need to (second HDD has docs data).

    Windows 10

Alright, so I have a W7 laptop at home that's fairly decent and I want to keep for a while yet, but the product key is rubbed back and I don't have the key written down. From what I'm reading, if I upgrade to W10 and then wipe my drive and reinstall W10, W10 will recognise that the motherboard...

The Thread for Those That Have Left Us Before Their Time Was Up (the trolls)

Don't remember his name but I'm sure a mod could grab it from the archives, but there was always the under seat turbo P-Plater that was sure that there was room there and that there wasn't any heat or structural issues with chopping the floor pan. I think he was my favorite. While Pir4te had...

    Rory's 2006 Patrol

Purchased a new roof top tent for the Patrol 2 weeks ago and put it on the following weekend. Decided on the Featherlite T-Top due to its light weight and slimness. Ran some power to the tent for a twin Narva USB charger and lights. Decided on wiring an LED strip on the centre bar inside...

    Rory's 2006 Patrol

Well my birthday present is now installed, an Alpine IVE-W554ABT. The old Pioneer AVH-P8450BT was a great unit but when updating it about a year ago, the Bluetooth died in it. Not entirely happy with the Bluetooth in the new unit but time will tell if the issue was with the unit or with me.

    No Traction Control Button?

I very much doubt it. The TC on these cars was just a way to cut the power, if you can learn to lift your foot off the go pedal, you can do just as much as the TC does. ESP is worth it as it actually corrects your car with brakes etc. In regards to Lumina's having extras, that doesn't mean...

At the end of the day, you have the base model of the V8 Commodore range. If you take a look at the base model of the Mazda 3 range you will find that it too doesnt have GPS. The 2014 released Storm costs a few hundred more in purchase price new but includes GPS...

    Holden Calais MY09.5 Headlight upgrade

The Ranger is quite picky on its signal due to the fact that it runs CANBUS which is why your brother had issues. HID's are legal provided they are self leveling, installed in projector housings and have washers. This is NOT easy to achieve and cheap ebay kits just don't meet the legal...

VF Holden Commodore Issues and Faults

Have this occurring too, quite frustrating as there are DRL's so no need for the heightened sensitivity turning on the lights when moving through a shadow. Amp + wiring kit help

Most VT-VZ Commodores don't have electrically adjusted passenger seats so chance of it being dropped down in these cars is non-existant. Amp + wiring kit help

Amp under the passenger seat is a great spot in the Commodores. Although my amp is a bit smaller than your amp is, it fitted beautifully under the passenger seat. and Nic's picture above shows that almost any amp will fit. You will need one RCA per speaker, so if you are doing fronts only...

No worries mate. Where are you mounting your amp? I have some pictures in my Crewman thread in my signature below with the amp mounted under my passenger seat. I'm not sure how your amp will fit but its worth a thought. As for wiring it is fairly straightforward, but post up if you have any...

    Amp + wiring kit help

Your amp has a 760W maximum output, realistically it will only ever get to about 240W (4 x 60W) nominal. Each speaker will get around 60W which is around their nominal power so this amp and speakers go perfectly together. The 8 gauge power kit should be enough to run it without issues since...

Yeah to be honest, I wouldn't put it past some or a lot of the blame being on the tyres. It was a very slippery day too. They held up to the rocks better than the rims though:
