    Faulty Speedometers & the law

Well that's all they said they did when I got the car back today. Said it was out of date but they couldn't replicate the problem prior to that. If it happens again they said they'll just replace the whole instrument cluster.

    Faulty Speedometers & the law

Hi Does anyone know where you stand with the law (NSW) if you're pinged for speeding and your speedometer is faulty I recently drove to melbourne & back and noticed that the tacho reading was a bit higher than usual for 110kph. I switched to the digital readout & found the analog was reading...

    Stock Blaupunkt Head Unit

Mine's the single disc unit. The dealer finally saw the problem yesterday (dropped power), so now they're ordering another one. This will be the 3rd head unit in a car that's just on 2 years old...Wonder how long the next one will last.

    Stock Blaupunkt Head Unit

Hi All Just wondering how many people are having/have had issues with the stock Blaupunkt head unit in the VZ. The first one refused to play CD's so was replaced after about a year. Worked fine for a while but now the replacement drops power, loses time (all usually late afternoon/night)...

    VZ Fuel Gauge Problem

Just ran my SV6 down to about 1/16th of a tank (1st notch on the fuel guage from empty - and as low on fuel as I dared go) By my calcs that should have left me with just under 5 Litres in the 75 litre tank. When I filled up I could only fit 65 Litres in. So 10 Litres left in the tank, there's a...

    Fuel Consumption

I've got about 9500K's on the clock and getting about 11-12 L/100Km which is done with a combination of city and freeway driving. I took my car on a long cruise from Sydney to Melbourne (for grand prix week, then great ocean rd after) about a month after I picked it up. Covered almost 3000Kms...

    VZ Fuel Gauge Problem

I have the same issue with the Traction Control. Tried to get Holden to look at it and see if anything could be done but they reported no fault codes showing up on their diagnostics. Usually I turn off TC anyway but on those occasions when I forget, I usually find it happens just before i've...

    How much did it cost?

I ordered an '05 plated SV6 in '04 for private purchase. If you're wondering why I've got an LSD as an option when it's standard in '05 plated SV6, it's because we didn't know at the time Holden were going to add this as standard in '05 when I ordered the car. At least I got Side Air Bags for...

    Commodore brochure misprints?

The 2005 spec SV6 comes standard with driver/passenger Side and Front airbags as well as a limited slip diff. It was a nice surprise when I took delivery in Feb as I had ordered the car in Nov '04 based on the '04 spec, but got an '05 spec SV6...see my comment in the "delivery dates" thread.

    Delivery Date's

I ordered my SV6 around november '94. Since it was towards the end of the year I specifically asked the dealer for a '05 build plated car. Still took them 2 months to get it to me because of factory closure over christmas/new year and was delivered at the end of Feb. But in the end I got a '05...

    New SV6 Colours

I tried both the auto and the manual prior to ordering my SV6 with a manual box. The auto is a great gearbox, really smooth. The active-select shift mode feel a lot more responsive than the Falcon (don't ask !) but at the end of the day it was still a little bit too gimicky for my liking and got...

    Any Problems

OK, so it turns out that it wasn't brake fluid at all but power steering fluid...hence why i'm not a mechanic !!! I'm told by my service consultant that they've seen a few of these come through lately. Would account for the whining and groaning noises coming from the engine bay on a cold start...

    Any Problems

I've had my SV6 6spd manual for about 3 months. Up until now, no issue aside from the fuel guage being way out which Holden recalibrated. Over the last couple of days though, i've noticed a high pitched whining coming from the engine/transmission (not quite sure where) on a cold start. Lasts...
