Sorry fullboost, but your beasty will need more than a shift kit to improve those times. The $2500 or so that you would spend on a Stage 2 could be better spent on getting the motor performing. There are plenty of threads on here that you can use as a guide.

You will definately notice the gear changes - they are quite harsh (my Missus hates them, reckons she needs a chiropractor after driving my beast). But, with a tune, when you throw it down the strip, the hard changes are brilliant for your ET.

Mate, 10mm had me frightened (huge!!), but it did the trick.

I fitted a 231/239 Comp Cam and initially took the hole in the butterfly out to 6mm. Got your problem exactly!! I increased the hole a mm at a time until it behaved itself with a 10mm hole. It's now very well behaved. I've heard that some guys have had to take the hole out as far as 12mm!!

Unless you fork out big bucks and go to a stage 3 (I think) shift kit, where it is fully manualised. You need to talk to specialist gearbox people for this.

If that doesn't work, I got a full centre console switch set from Cars R Us for $30-odd bucks. Looks OEM and has worked great for the last year and a half. They also sell the rear door switches for very little (sorry, I can't remember the price), so you can replace the whole shebang for around...

They look like the same lights that Cars-R-Us are advertising for $322 with free delivery. If you want the BMW angel eye look (i.e.DRL's), check with Holmart, because I don't think these halo lights are bright enough to be seen during the day.

It's a VE mechanically with some serious gadgetry upgrades - yawn.

I was looking at installing angel eye rings in my headlights. The kit was supposed to come with all sealants and glue that was required to put them back together. To take them apart, you have to use a heat gun to soften the glue so that you can separate the front from the back. This is for a VT...

Don't know Brenno, the spokes on the Grange rim go all the way out to the edge of the rim, (which doesn't have any vertical face either). Could be a tricky, finniky install.

Thanks for all your input guys, you've talked me out of white/red walls on the tyres! I do like the chrome trim on black wheels, but that's out of the budget at present, so I think I'll go with vxs93's advice for the foreseeable future.

The chrome tends to make the eye try to look everywhere at once, instead of wandering leasurely over the whole car. Therefore, black compliments the rest of the car I reckon. :yeah:

From my own experience, the best way is to find a tame engineer and keep him involved from go to whoa; that way, when it's crunch time for rego, he is already on top of all the mods. Things will then go more smoothly with Qld Transport as well.
