with new wheels comes new tyres :)

Email Bridgestone and ask them ? Usually wear rate , comfort and performance in wet and dry are the big differences.as is price.

    Brake Pads for VE

+1 for Remsa ,also sourced from Greg at GSL .. Don't forget to do a brake flush while your at it ...

What kind of tires you guys running on your VE's?

+ 1 for RE050's , ill get 50000kms out of mine at least, on a heavy Calais, i dont ''baby'' them either. Rotate them every 10000kms, and run them at 38psi front and back. I wish Synpower 5W 30W was readily available here, im using Synpower 5W 40W at the moment and quite happy with it!

Ac hot again - dash out

Pollen filter isn't standard on a Calais ... Just replaced the crappy mesh one with a pollen filter.. It is a option if the dealer is kind enough to let you know about it . When i went to order my pollen filter the sales guy didn't know it even existed.....

    Brake Upgrade Options (Not BBK)

Yep , def more of a euro feel. Brake flush will do wonders as well if you haven't done one for some time. I got Remsas on the advice of GSL, im happy with them but i would say more dust than stock lol. GSL are great to deal with and will give you good advice regarding brakes.

    Brake Upgrade Options (Not BBK)

Braided lines will def help, less expansion . Im using Remsa pads , cant say a bad word about them other than they create a lot of dust, with very low rotor wear .

    Castrol Edge Titanium 5W-30

Im sorry , but i did my study like you before i purchased oil ... I made informed decisions based i evidence i searched for . I don't have time to do that research for you. Yes there are some oil experts on here, one of them is Steve from Mainlube ( forum sponsor) . He actually recommends...

    Castrol Edge Titanium 5W-30

I understand wanting to use dexos spec oil for warranty purposes ... BUT there are a lot of oils on the market that meet or exceed dexos specs. The only reason they arent dexos approved is because the oil companies don't want to pay the cost of having their oil dexos approved as that would mean...

    Shudder during braking

This is a interesting article .... There's no such thing as 'warped' brake rotors - Orlando Autos | Examiner.com I will add that the technique spoken about in the article works !

    Tyres?

I wouldnt be concerned about the country of origin. Id be more concerned about the quality of the compound. There are some tyre companies that import tyres from countries whos stock is intended for countries other than Australia ,therefore they don't have to meet our standards. There are a lot of...

    Tyres?

Id be concerned , 4mm is quite a bit if the other 3 tyres are different . It has to affect the car in some way , vibration at speed being one i would think. Have a look on the drivers side pillar , there should be a tyre placard there with correct tyre specifications, pressures etc.

    Tyres?

I couldn't agree more , ive got 46000 kms so far from the original Potenzas and i reckon they will be good until about 50000kms (245 40 19 98Y) . They aren't cheap at $350 to $400 each but well worth it IMO. Good balancing, tyre rotation and correct inflation is a must to get long life from a...

    Which fuel is better

This topic has been blasted to death .... Ive used both quite a bit and find little difference with either ... BP guarantee their ''Ultimate'' fuel is 98 Ron the others don't as far as im aware. Vortex seems to allow allow the engine to rev more freely compared to BP ...However BP seems a lot...

advice on Hollandia 700 Series 2 in the VE SV6

Hi SV , i have a 60th Anv Calais which has a factory fitted sunroof. I believe it is a Hollandia 700 series 1. I might be mistaken but as far as im aware its a Hollandia 700 so i assume its a series 1 as the car is 4 years old . Top sunroof , no leaks and has never let me down. :)

    Interesting Reading

There is every chance the new V8 VF will be powered by the Corvette C7 motor. 5.5 litre and close to 330KW :) unless of course Holden ''detune'' them.

    Final verdict: 3.0L 6 speed VERSUS 3.6L 4 speed

My reply was in regards to DAKSTAR's post which in turn you commented on ...whos the genius ? Of course your going to wipe your hands of this thread . I don't want to make you look even smarter than you already have :)

    Final verdict: 3.0L 6 speed VERSUS 3.6L 4 speed

I was agreeing to DAKSTAR's post which makes some very valid points. Your post states your opinion without any valid points . Care to give reasons why you disagree with DAKSTAR's post ? Id like to see the common sense behind your statement , thanks!

BMW mirrors into ve? Is it possible?

I have a 08 Calais and the passenger mirror 'tilts' down when i am in reverse ... I don't think they would be all that hard to wire up as long as you had a Calais wiring diagram...
