No job ... now what ?

Hey all, Just thought i would have a bit of a bitch
For the last couple of months there have been rumors that the factory where I work will be closing down and we will all be made redundant. Well the other week we were all called into the canteen and told that it was true, and as of the end of June we will all be out of a job .Now with all these new industrial laws that are floating around we were all worried as to what we were entitled to.Some of us have been there for a while ( me 18 years )
As to turned out we were all looked after pretty well. e.g 4 weeks pay for every year you were with the company, all sick leave paid out , all long service paid .
Plus a $200 cash bonus.
Also we had a few guys from an employment agency visit us for a week to show us how to write our resumes, and how to apply for jobs
And a BBQ every Friday for lunch till we close.
So I guess we all done pretty good out of it
Now ……. Does anyone have any vacancies for a Storeman/ Forklift driver
I can also MIG weld (12 years exp) and run a 4 colour flexo printer lol

that's pretty good, what they're giving you... not many other companies would do that..seems like you might be right for cash for a few weeks hopefully until you get another job, if you don't straight away. Good luck mate (y)

follow a delivery bloke around and when you see someone in a forklift come out to unload then put your resume in. or just put your resume in at a freight courier place. eg startrak

I used to work for them a few years ago manufacturing X-Ray equipment. They have a large storehouse and since they are expanding I'm sure new jobs will become available. I checked their website and they don't have any jobs listed but I would certainly check them out. They are in Dandenong as well. Great company to work for and the Japanese head office really look after their employees.
