    Thumbs down Pay packets

Did ya see how little Johnnie Coward gave himself and his pollie mates a pay rise, 7%, most ordinary workers would only get 2% and that would be over 2 years. Little Johnnie pockets an extra $30 grand a year, bastard!

He needs the payrise, just look at all the good things he has done for the australian people.

    GST
    Work Place Reforms
    Promising no interest rate rises.

He has done so much for us, and he asks so little.

And one thing I forgot, according to an article last week, little Johnnie has spent close to $850,000 this financial year on travel costs, nevermind that it's for political reasons and running the country and shit like that, it's way more than any other PM.

Just goes to show you haven't been to many countries . Most other countries, might not be as rich as Australia (many are faaaaar richer) but most of them have a better landscape, more rain, more mountains, 10 times more fertile soil and apart from monetary constraints you have a LOT more freedom to do what you want, when you want. In reality Australia is an over policed sand filled wasteland, American crusader white power wana be, don't get me wrong I like it and more to the point like it for what it used to be and could/should will be one day again but it's just not all that like some people think. The push bike helmet law that started in Victoria with that John Cain dude was the beginning of the end of classic Australia for me, that still pisses me off to this day.

It's almost as if they sit around a table and say lets see what we can take off those suckers this year for some kinda of unfunny joke :P. Anyway that's my opinion

That same law pissed me the hell off also. Funny how they could never fine kids undder 18 unless their oldies were with them. But i agree we are slowly becoming a state of the US. I much preferred living n malaysia than in Australia.

"Little Johnnie Coward" did no such thing. All poli's wages are set by an independent committee.

You odviously have less knowledge of wage growth than respect for the PM's office. Wages growth has been averaging around 4 - 5% for quite some time now.

Grow up, show a bit of respect and stop whining like a little school kid that didn't get a chocolate bar in your lunch. You might actully improve your own pay packet.

Why??? Don't you want a job? These are the best laws in generations for any worker worth their salt.

Most people I know get a 5% per year wage increase, not including any other pay rises they may negotiate themselves. I have no prob with his pay packet, it all comes down to responsibilty and accountability, and when u are in charge of running a country you have a lot to be responsible for. Besides, tell me if u guys were able to give yourself or offered by someone a pay rise that you don't need that you wouldn't take it.

I agree with wanting to change the new industrial relations laws minux, however i just couldn't trust beasly with running our country.

Even though the new laws can be a bit painfull i think overall we are much better off having johnnie running the country than beazly.

(Disclaimer. I am not saying johnnie howard is wonderful, just that he is better than beazly)

Problem is, every year Johnny stays in he is making more stupid changes. I'd rather get beasley in there for a few years just to get rid of howard. Howard still seems stuck in the 70's

Yeah its tricky. We need a third VIABLE option, not the greenies etc.

I just think in a three year term someone like beasly can do alot of damage.

The days with high defecits and debts by the Australian Government have been finally wiped out (Debts Mainly caused by labor). And the economy and interest rates are still doing extremely well.

Unfortunately even though i think hes a d,ick i just don't want beazly to stuff it up again. and Johnnies record speaks for itself. Yes i think all the power has gone to his head and mabye it is time for costello to step in with hopefully some fresh ideas.

Uhhh I am employed and also employ people. My real world is odviously different to yours. Insulting me does nothing to help your credibility.

For my guys it is **very** simple. Those that are reliable and good at their job (Ie more productive) are highly valued and thier pay packet shows that. The others have 3 options - be happy with what they have, get more reliable/better at their job (it isn't rocket science - anybody can do it) or move on. It is their choice unless they $#@k me around too much and then I just help their choice along a bit

In nearly every industry, good reliable labour is very difficult to find and once you find a good worker, any 1/2 way intellegent boss will pay the right money to keep him/her. If you are not happy with what you are earning you can either ask for more money or go get another job.

On the other hand, you might be one of the also-ran's that turn up late more often than early and do a 1/2 arsed job when you are at work. If that is the case - be happy with what you have got because it is probably more than you deserve.

Understand guys (and girls) - the world does not owe you a living. If you want a better lot in life then work hard, make the required sacrifices and do what you need to do to achive whatever your dream is. The government (whatever persuasion is in at the time) will have very little impact on if you succeed or fail.

Where was the insult apart from typo that was meant to be bud.

In a perfect world what you say is true, it can be better, unfortunalty not all employers are like that. I know people who were sacked because the boss thought their pay was too high, he then employed two scab laborers to replace him.
Where i am at the moment i have had 3 pay rises in the last 12 months, i work from 6 till 6, i don't get paid near enough for what i do. I cant find another job because am too damned busy where i am. I do not love this job, nor do i hate it. I am only doing it to keep my income coming in to cover my fun expenses.Once i finish my studies the sure i will move on.

I guess all i am trying to say is that in a perfect world, the IR laws are great. In the real world where guys for example work at shell lose danger pay etc it just isnt on.

PS: Love how you say somethng about insults then do it yourself.
