New VH SL/E

hey people i just got my first car from pickles auction in SA. it is a VH SL/E that was stolen and recovered and a bit burnt in the back seat. It is a V8 and sounds really good but i cant tell if it is a 308 or a 253. The auction i got it from said it was a 308 but the number plates on it said "SIR 253" so i am not quite sure what it is. does anybody know a way i can check? thanx

No good cause, Holden don't keep records of the classic VB-VKs.
