I just got this email from Holden, I don't know if its new or old news but I like!
Concept car- to me looks like a 4 seater baby commodore with a twin tubro 3.6l V6!

As the article says, this is 10 years old. Pity it never came to fruition. It might have saved Holden compared to the path they followed with the oversized VE/VF.

ummmm yeah - it was a test bed to get the public used to the (then) new VE themes and as VS says - it's near 10 years old.

Was such a cool looking car at the time, but now looking back there is so much more VE in there then I ever realized.

We had Mike Simcoe give us a talk just after the VE was released and he showed this Torana, telling us the whole thing was done as a bit of trickery to test the VE styling on the general public without letting anyone see an actual VE. Worked like a charm, everyone loved the Torana so they knew the styling on the VE was right and would be a success.

wow! dunno what circles they were getting feedback from, cos' all i remember were people hating the idea and cursing holden for putting such an esteemed name to an ugly car.

Its not bad looking except the color and the glass roof. that car in poison ivy green would be awesome. i think they took a lot of the concept for the cruze. also theres a shot that the torana will be back.

The interior pic of that concept torrie has the steering wheel, screen and aircon buttons in the exact same positions as the ve.
