Hey guys,
Been on this site a few years now, and I've sold a few things in our for sale section with no problems whatsoever.
Over the weekend I made a new for sale thread in the other parts and items for sale forum, and I'm not really a fan of this new system of post moderating that you've put in place. I can perfectly understand the reasoning behind it, however its now 4 or so days later, and my post still hasn't appeared, nor do I have any way of knowing wether or not its been checked, and rejected, or even posted and I've just missed it everytime I have to come on to search through the various other threads to see if its there yet. Or perhaps it simply hasn't even been checked yet.
Assuming that what I'm saying is correct, then I'd like to suggest that in future, management develop a method of communicating to members if their thread has been posted, or send a message explaining why it hasn't been postedm and provide a copy of the text that was in the thread so that the member can go back and edit it appropriately, rather than have to start from scratch and make a new thread.
If possible, I would also like to know the status of my thread, is it still passing through the moderating process, or has it been rejected etc.
Thanks guys.![]()

Are you saying my thread was refused?
Because I included prices and descriptions and everything in my article. I have pictures as well.

its been working great for quite a while. most other people have worked it out.
the trading section is a FREE service, dont like how we run it, use ebay or any other online trading site.
your thread didnt even look like following the template, thats why it was refused. pretty simple. templates and rules are all stickied in the trading sections.
I didn't know I had to follow the template. I just included the information I felt was neccesary.
Anyway, its done now. Guess I'll have to make another one.

I do agree it would be nice to get a response if a thread is rejected or at least able to access the text, as it somtimes takes a while to type up a thread only to have to do it again.
If we had to send a PM or similar each time a thread was deleted we wouldn't be able to do anything else on the site.
To me it's clear as day, the first thing you see when you open the classified section is numerous sticky threads about templates then you have the yellow box at the top 'When starting a new thread that is selling a vehicle, this guide MUST be used at all times. When advertising parts etc this thread must be used.Failure to adhere to these rules will result in your thread being deleted.' I can't really think of anyway we can make it clearer other than putting it bold and taking up someone's full screen.
Well I've created a new thread using the template (however I feel it was more effective and flowing the way I'd done it, but whatever)
I have pictures, which are my main description of the items, however the site image upload tool is a lot different to what I remember and it's glitchy now and dosn't seem to be working.........

I have a file selected, and I click upload and litterally nothing happens. And then the add files window blocks off all the other images behind it and you cant get rid of the add files window either. Not sure if that makes much sense, but I'd assume I'm not the only one having this problem so you should be able to see it for yourselves.

Ditto.
I dont know why we should bother sending out countless PM's (you have no idea how many utterly stupid for sale threads there are that do not even come close to following a template.) if they cannot take the 2 minutes to glace at the top of the trading post forum and see in big letters "STARTING A NEW THREAD? USE THIS GUIDE" or "New Trading Rules - ALL USERS MUST READ AND OBEY OR YOUR POST WILL BE DELETED".
Nah not working for me. :S
Hakhawk, do you know how I can use the old upload tool? That would be much appreciated...

If i see a thread that doesn't have the template, but the person has clearly spent 15 minutes writing it up, i'll approve it, on the condition the template is added to the post within 24 hours.
If someone types 'selling my VS guys' - too bad, read the rules.
Also if its clearly a new'ish member, i'll let them know via PM how things work. But for someone with 700 posts not to know, too bad for them.
Also, Since there have been 4 mods, there has never been threads needing approval for more than 24 hours. If it doesn't show up the next day, you clearly didn't read the rules.

If you read the rules, your thread will not be deleted and you will not need to re-type it. Fairly easy if you ask me...
