ebay links in F/S threads

Issue we have noticed that I wish to open for discussion, People that post a F/S thread with an ebay auction link dont get their thread approved because it doesnt contain a set price, I think this is a bit stupid but Stealthy thinks this is fine, so we shall put this down to the Mods and members. Should we allow F/S threads with ebay auctions but no set price in the ad?

No, I hate it when someone expects top dollar for stuff but wont give a price, same thing goes for ebay......

my opinion: allow links to ebay for description and photos (less stress/cost on JC) but you must list a price on JC. if you dont like the price on here, then try ur chances on ebay.

agree with ephect, ebay links should be allowed but a JC price must be listed also.

Some forums have an eBay forum bit in it...

Im personally with minux on this matter, we have out own for sale bit here and out set rules, in those rules state that all must have a price, so if we have a eBay link there you will always have to be updating the price as the bids go up.

IMO we should not post eBay links, you can link up images from eBay anyway to your thread just the same as you do an image from google images.

Let people advertise there stuff on here, and if it doesnt sell then they can post it on eBay but not post an eBay link in the for sale thread.

So my vote goes to no eBay links. Up to 2 now with me and minux

I say no links. Whats to stop people putting up stupid prices on the forum just so people bid on Ebay instead?

^^^why would you want that? it will only cost you more in ebay fees when it sells. im going with link to ebay but must also have a price on here

As long as the F/S Thread has all required template information filled out, I don't have where you link to.

But if a thread missing details and says that further details are on an ebay site or a carsales site then it doesn't get approved.

Seems simple and logical to me.

No, we are making it a decision for everyone, we could make it a mod only decision if we want?

Mods decision is final. Don't need polls to make decisions, otherwise no point in having mods to set and maintain rules.

The problem was, i deleted (well, didn't approve) 2 threads because they were ebay links. The templates were filled out, bar the price.

The problem i see, is allowing ebay links without prices opens up a can of worms for those who just put make an offer or they dont know what they want. All or none is my opinion.....(in regards to enforcing the rules)

There have been a few threads where, some items have been linked to ebay to show pics/info, and they were approved because it met the template, and had a price for OUR members to purchase the item.

Yeah, I think I agree with that.

I'm happy for an ebay link to be included so long as there is a set price in the thread. Be it a 'special' price that JCCC members can have the item for OR a price that matches the BUY NOW price on the ebay item.
