    Default Can't edit posts

    Hey guyz...

I logged on this morning to edit a post I had regarding a cruise and the edit button was gone? I made a new account and started a 'test' thread to see if it was the site screwing up or my account. It was my account coz the new one could edit created posts. So I tried again logging onto kbarker, but no edit button... WTF??? :b:

    any help would be appriciated

    Kurt

i think you can only edit posts within a certin time frame. 24 hours maybe? or maybe a few days

    well then that's dodgy.

I've got a cruise thread in upcoming events with the 'attendance list', and I need to update it, the meet location has changed as well. What can I do to change it if I need to?

Troy is certainly on the right track.

At the moment there is a 48 hour period which you may edit a post up until then. I have just changed this to 5 days.

Why? We had some very childish behaviour previously with a member who went through and modified all of his / her posts to contain nothing of value which messed up a lot of threads.

After the 5 day period and updating is still required I can only suggest contacting a mod or admin.

I know this is a real pain and personally I would rather not do it but there is only 1 person to blame for this.

thanks darren, i've just made some final edits and removed the ever changing attendance list.

I understand why you've done it, it's just a little inconvinent in some regards.

    No worries, sorry about that.

There is always someone out there happy to stuff things up for the 'honest' people.

A way around it would be perhaps a text file with a list of people, as long as the file itself doesn't change it shouldn't cause any problems.
