    Default Large post issue

Whenever posting larger than the post window the text starts scrolling itself upwards so you cant see the last section of what you have written. You slide the scroll bar down and it goes back up on its own.
    F**)(*cking frustrating.

not a problem ive encountered before, but its no reason to bypass the forum swear filter. consider this a warning not to do it again.

Internet connection isnt an issue, Im on 1.5mb more than enough for fast forum browsing.

That and the page has finished loading when this occurs.

Only happens on this forum, not the many others I frequent.

Happens to me only on the work connection, page keeps refreshing so the post keeps going to the start. If I try to scroll it keeps jumping back. Sometimes there is also a lag in typing. I am miles ahead and suddenly it catches up.

No issues at home, which is where I mainly post

Ok guys i've had this problem on this forum and others, and found that it's an IE8 issue. Been wanting to find a fix for this for ages, and it appears this has got it sorted.

If you're using IE8 and want to make a large post, click the "compatibility view" button, to the right of the address bar.

Here's the button to look for in case you're unsure: (pinched from google images)

Note, if you've already begun writing a post in the native IE8 view and then have this text box scrolling issue, be sure to highlight your text and either right-click > Copy or keyboard CTRL + C to copy your post before clicking the compatibility view button as it will reload the page. If you don't copy your post you'll have lost what you were typing. After the compatibility view version of the page has loaded, in the text box right-click > Paste or keyboard CTRL + V, and finish off your post without any annoying scrolling problems!

    Hope this helps

    hopefully it fixes it

Seems to be, so thats a BIG to HoldenManDan

I don't think its to do with the actual internet itself, no problems anywhere else, and don't have the text lag like others have said, seems to be IE8 related?? anyhoo, it seems like its working fine now

I use Firefox at home but IE at work, not by choice though, so I guess that's why for me it's fine at home but dodgy at work.

    No problems guys!

Yeah it's a known Internet Explorer issue so other browsers might not have the same problem.

I have since noticed that after clicking the compatibility view button while on JC, internet explorer remembers which sites you've used compatibility view on previously and will load them in the compatibility view automatically next time you visit that site, which is good!

    Cheers, Dan
