    Default regional forums..?

i know this could clutter up the board (with an extra 9 forums) but how do people think region specific boards could work? they could work... the could not work.

    plan:
9 new forums (NSW, VIC, SA, WA, NT, QLD, ACT, TAS and abroad)
1 mod for each who lives in that region
mod only has powers in their specific forum
mod has extremly limited powers over all (no access to mod forums and stuff)
new forums are under a sub forum (like the parts forums)

i dunno, just an idea i cracked up last night while i was... umm, on the.. erm... lets not go into details. it could work for people organising cruises, or looking for help on repairers details/reccomendations.

let me know what people think.. am i full of sh*t, or do i have an idea?

The idea would be good for cruises/meets only I reckon, we're all one community why split us up lol (yes I know what you mean by it but I don't like)

i think its a crap idea
this forum is already in danger of becoming the most overmoderated site on the net.with its current crop of moderators who couldn't moderate to save themselves.
but whos only answer to everything is to threaten a ban if you don't agree with their way of thinking.
what this forum needs is less moderators not more

Mate, firstly I belong to a number of Commodore forums, and this would have to be one of the most welcoming. The mods are nice and friendly, only too happy to help you out if you need it, and the way I see it, the more mods there are, the quicker any issue gets sorted out, and amazingly these mods don't seem to fight for power and have races to see who can ban the post people.

Now the majority should know what forum i'm talking about here, but one of them has a minority of moderators which take action on the forum it's self, but they are the rudest bunch of people, you can't talk about anything without getting banned, and they are CONTROL FREAKS. They don't have a love for commodores they have a love for themseves. At least JC hasn't become that. *hopes i'm actually allowed to abuse other commodore forums* ^^^ lol

As for too many moderators... These people will only be permitted to moderate the cruise section for which they are in charge, and will have no impact on the majority of JC. This will not make more moderators for the main parts of the board, and it will help with cruise organisation as you are only dealing with 1 person.

Must mean me then...... and as you can see., it reallly bothers me.....not... I have" hung out" in quite a few car forums before I became so attached to JC..... I mean, look at our member numbers, and the style of questions etc...this is mainly an "Information Forum," not a" Hoons Guide to the Galaxy"...Me, as new Moderator, am just trying to get a few community minded people together for cruises etc..(and stopping all the bulshite that goes on with kids in here raising Hell)......and from what I have seen from other Aussie car Forums, this is definitely one of the better..(you don't see our top dudes getting arrested for Assault etc etc...like has happened to a leader of another Commodore Forum..).....I messaged you a note Garth wrote up for us to use, ......I hope that helps you understand things a little better, Beckrey...explains things rather well, I think......cheers all................Rat.

Sounds like a good idea to me... does ANYONE else on these forums live in sydney???!!!

Oh, and by the way Beckrey, If you have a problem with the mods on this site, then something is wrong with you - They always give reasons for what they do, and they havent done anything that has adversely affected me while I've been here - in short, they're a lot better than most mods on the net!

Yeah, there's a few of us Sydney siders hanging around the forum.

I'm going to be organising the Sydney cruises when the new forum get's up an running.
So we'll be having a few meets, hopefully get the Sydney member's out of their shells.

LOL, you'd be suprised... I just did a cruise from Sydney to Canberra last weekend, and i've done a couple of Sydney Cruises. The turnout from the Canberra people was no comparision to the usual turnout from Sydney. I think ACT cruises will rock, it's not as small and insignificant as people think, and they deserve there own section damnit!
